Eagles Nest North Texas a private non-profit organization has partnered with McKinney ISD to create McKinney Aviation Academy.

Eagle's Nest Projects of North Texas is a nonprofit partnered with the McKinney Independent School District, offering students hands-on aviation training and career pathways. A program created to guide secondary students towards certifications, higher education degrees, and practical experience in the aviation industry.

We’re honored to welcome back the dedicated McKinney ISD staff, teachers, and administrators for the 2026-2027 school year.

To help kick off Convocation, Eagle’s Nest Projects, and our mentors and student pilots, proudly conducted a four-ship flyover in recognition of the incredible educators and leaders who inspire our next generation.

Legend Aircraft is sponsoring and hosting this years finals for the National STOL Series at our home airport in Sulphur Springs, TX.

Come see the Legend team as well as the Legend AL18 and MOAC pilots that will be competing.

Come see our student built airplanes, both flying and under construction. Recruiters from major airlines, colleges and flight schools will be here. Food trucks for lunch.

All are welcome. Need not be a MISD student.

Second year students from both McKinney North & McKinney Boyd proudly display their hand built RC stick planes.

Students selected airfoils, worked on weight and balance, and correctly calculated CoG for these models.
