McKinney ISD has closed school for tomorrow, Thursday Jan 29, 2026.
CCHFA policy is that we follow their schedule.
Please use your normal ensemble rehearsal time for extra practice at home!!

Greetings CCHFA!!

McKinney ISD has not made a statement regarding their open/closed decision for Wednesday, however....

CCHFA is cancelling classes/rehearsals for Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Sixty seven percent of our students on Wednesday have longer drives and would have to travel on many untreated roads before they could reach a clear road on which to safely travel.

During your regularly scheduled class time, play/practice and enjoy time with your instrument!! Thursday is looking good for rehearsals...so far!

I hope everyone is staying safe, warm AND enjoying a little extra down time!

As our policy states, we follow the closure schedule of McKinney ISD. They have already cancelled school for Monday and just released an announcement cancelling school for Tuesday.

So...CCHFA will be closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

...It comes down to home practice. If the kids are practicing every day at home they will get better, typically very rapidly, and if they don't, they won't. An armada of the best directors of all time cannot fix that inviolable law of the universe.
