Greetings CCHFA!!

McKinney ISD has not made a statement regarding their open/closed decision for Wednesday, however....

CCHFA is cancelling classes/rehearsals for Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Sixty seven percent of our students on Wednesday have longer drives and would have to travel on many untreated roads before they could reach a clear road on which to safely travel.

During your regularly scheduled class time, play/practice and enjoy time with your instrument!! Thursday is looking good for rehearsals...so far!

Musically,
Ms. Pilgrim

Hello CCHFA!!
I hope everyone is staying safe, warm AND enjoying a little extra down time!

As our policy states, we follow the closure schedule of McKinney ISD. They have already cancelled school for Monday and just released an announcement cancelling school for Tuesday.

So...CCHFA will be closed Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

Students keep spending time on your music!!!
Hugs, Ms. Pilgrim

...It comes down to home practice. If the kids are practicing every day at home they will get better, typically very rapidly, and if they don't, they won't. An armada of the best directors of all time cannot fix that inviolable law of the universe.

We've been quiet, yet super busy! Our orchestra director, Mr. Lampe, has been doing such a wonderful job with weekly challenges for our orchestra students. This week: the emoji challenge. Thank you students for your submission! "Music is what emotions sound like"-Author Unknown
