If your RPZ backflow valve has a constant drip like this, there is no need to worry. It simply means the number 1 check valve is fouled. An easy fix. The price depends on the size of valve but there is no need to replace the whole RPZ.

Cold weather is approaching. An unusually cold winter is predicted. If your backflow valve is mounted outside under a fake rock or hot box, this is the time to check the condition of your insulated bag and replace it if it is torn. There is nothing I regret more than having to tell someone that their backflow valve has to be replaced because of freezing.
