Our owner is onsite, actively involved, and accessible to our families and staff. As an educator herself, Sarah is hands-on with the curriculum, supports our teachers, knows what is happening in our classrooms, and is part of the day-to-day decisions that keep our school running at its best.

It might look like they’re “just playing”… but those little hands are doing some pretty big work. 🧠💚

Every squish, scoop, splash, pour, stack, smear and grab is giving their brain new information. They’re exploring cause and effect, strengthening fine motor skills, solving problems, building language and learning how the world around them works.

At The PREP School of McKinney, we believe some of the BEST learning happens when kids don’t even realize they’re learning.

So yes, we’re going to let them get a little messy. 😉 Because behind that mess is a whole lot of growing happening.

Before your baby can tell you what they learned today, they’re already learning ALL day long. 💚💙

In our infant rooms at The PREP School of McKinney, the things that may look simple are actually some of the most important parts of early development.

The babbling back and forth with a teacher. Tummy time on the floor. Peekaboo. Reaching for a toy. Hearing the same familiar voice at bottle time. Being comforted by someone they know and trust.

These aren’t just ways to pass the day until babies are “old enough” to learn. This IS learning.

And while we love creating beautiful classrooms and engaging activities, we know the most important part of an infant classroom will always be the people loving, talking to, responding to, and caring for your baby every single day. 🥹

If that conversation sounds familiar, try asking a question that gives your child something specific to talk about instead!

What made you laugh? Who did you sit by? Was anything tricky? Did you help someone? What did you learn that you didn’t know before?

Sometimes the smallest change in the question opens the door to the BEST conversations. 💙💚

And don’t be surprised when one simple question turns into a 20-minute story with 47 unrelated details. 😂 We love those too.

☮️ September 21: International Day of Peace — wear a peace sign shirt or white!
🍁 September 22: First Day of Fall — wear your favorite fall colors!
🤠 September 25: Western Day — boots, hats and cowboy spirit encouraged! ** It’s also the last day of our Coins for Courage Fundraiser, so don’t forget those final contributions.

Tell me you’re a preschool teacher without telling me you’re a preschool teacher… 😂

You can turn literally ANY activity into a learning experience, you’ve mastered opening 14 snack packages at once, and somehow your main job is still… Counting heads. All. Day. Long. 😂

On the playground? Count them.
Walking inside? Count them.
Going to lunch? Count them.
Someone sneezed? Better count them again just to be safe. 🤣

Our PREP teachers may spend a suspicious amount of their day counting little humans, but we wouldn’t trust those little humans with anyone else. 💙💚🧡
