Three years apart.

The picture on the left was actually taken closer to competition day than where I am right now on the right.

When I look at these pictures, of course I see the physical progress. Three more years of training, eating, recovering, learning and continuing to put in the work.

But that’s not the only progress I see anymore.

The man on the right has a much different relationship with Christ than the man on the left did.

Through my Bible study lately, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about 2 Timothy 4:7 — fighting the good fight, finishing the race and keeping the faith.

I’m not at the finish line of this prep. And I’m certainly not at the finish line of the race God has given me.

I’m still being shaped as a Christian, husband, father, leader, business owner, coach and competitor.

So I’ll keep doing what God has put in front of me.

Keep training.

Keep serving.

Keep growing.

Keep the faith.

6 weeks out. September 19.

For hashtags, I’d keep them tight:

For a long time, I read Proverbs 27:17 thinking about how I could sharpen the people God had entrusted to me.

During this season, God has been showing me something I hadn’t seen before.

While I thought I was helping shape others, He has been using this business, this season, and the people He’s entrusted to me to shape me.

Every conversation.
Every challenge.
Every client.
Every opportunity.

He’s using them to mold me into a better Christian, husband, father, leader, and business owner.

I’m still learning, but I’m grateful God never wastes a season.

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” — Proverbs 27:17

One of the biggest things God has shown me over the last few months is that He never became more present in my life.

He was always there.

The greatest change is that I’ve become more aware of His presence.

There have been seasons where I was consumed by circumstances—running a business, financial pressure, contest prep, and trying to carry responsibilities that were never meant to be carried alone.

Through Scripture, prayer, and daily time with God, I’m learning that trust isn’t the absence of uncertainty. Trust is believing that God is with me regardless of the outcome.

God was with me.

God is with me.

God will be with me.

That truth gives me the confidence to faithfully steward today and trust Him with tomorrow.

Sometimes the best memories have nothing to do with work… they happen when you simply put your phone down and enjoy the people God has blessed you with. 🇺🇸❤️

Reese created this dance, and I couldn’t let her have all the fun. 😂

This Fourth of July was a reminder that some of life’s greatest gifts aren’t things—they’re the people we get to share life with. I’m thankful for my family, thankful for this country, and most of all thankful for God’s faithfulness through every season.

I hope you and your family had an incredible Independence Day filled with laughter, gratitude, and memories you’ll never forget.

What’s one moment from your Fourth of July weekend that made you smile? 🇺🇸

One of the biggest mindset shifts that has happened as I’ve gotten older is realizing that fitness is no longer just about appearance.

At 44, training has become much more connected to stewardship, discipline, health, leadership, and consistency.

I want to stay strong for my family.
I want to lead my clients well.
I want to continue pushing myself physically and mentally while taking care of the body God has given me.

Ironically, when fitness stops being driven purely by appearance, the process usually becomes much more sustainable.

That’s something I wish I understood earlier in life.

Four weeks complete.

No crash diet.
No shortcuts.
No magic formula.

Just training, nutrition, cardio, recovery, and consistency repeated day after day.

The goal isn’t to see how much can change in four weeks.

The goal is to execute the plan long enough for the results to take care of themselves.

There is still a lot of work left to do, but it’s always encouraging to look back and see what consistent effort can accomplish in a relatively short amount of time.

Week 5 starts now.

Week 5 begins today.

Four weeks of training.

Four weeks of cardio.

Four weeks of structured nutrition.

Most progress doesn’t feel dramatic while it’s happening. It’s built through small decisions repeated consistently over time.

The work isn’t always exciting. Some days it’s hard. Some days it’s inconvenient. Some days you simply don’t feel like it.

But that’s where growth happens.

Hebrews 12:11 says:

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained”

Discipline is stewardship.

God doesn’t call us to control the outcome. He calls us to be faithful with today’s responsibilities.

Whether it’s your faith, your family, your health, or your business, keep showing up even when you can’t see the full picture yet.

Consistency in uncertainty is where character is built.

“Put on the full armor of God…” — Ephesians 6:11

Most people overestimate what can happen in two weeks and underestimate what can happen in twenty.

A little over two weeks into prep and the goal is still the same:

Train.
Eat the food.
Do the cardio.
Recover.
Repeat.

Nothing flashy.

Just daily ex*****on.

This is usually the phase where people get impatient and start looking for shortcuts.

The reality is that Galatians 6:9 says, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Results come from staying consistent long enough for the work to compound.

17 weeks to go.

One of the things I enjoy most about prep now compared to when I was younger is that it’s no longer just about me.

I still love the challenge of pushing myself physically, but there’s also responsibility attached to it now.

Showing up for clients. Coaching people through their own goals. Setting the tone inside the gym while continuing to push toward my own.

That’s what makes this process meaningful for me at this stage of life.

Lead from the front.

17 weeks.
