Lavender Oaks Learning Academy

Cultivating character, community, academic growth, and a lifelong love of learning in Melissa, Tx.

Lavender Oaks Learning Academy offers a haven of support for the Christian homeschooling community. We are a hybrid learning landscape embracing a whole-child approach designed to encourage curiosity and inspire a lifelong love of learning. Christian values are at the heart of everything we do and serve as the foundation for our curriculum choice, teacher selection and character building. We emphasize hands-on learning, which engages multiple senses and learning styles, promoting active discovery and encouraging practical application. We provide daily opportunity for play, outdoor learning and exploration of different studies such as fine arts, life skills, and foreign languages. We utilize a combination of curriculum, selected based on their commitment to truth and whole-child learning. We value the benefits of small class sizes and realistic student-to-teacher ratios (10:1), creating a focused and supportive atmosphere. Our aim is to allow teachers, chosen for their passion and experience, the joy of teaching what they love and the freedom to build upon the curriculum in their own unique ways, fostering creativity and individualization. Additionally, we will organize optional outings such as field trips, meet-ups, and community service projects; fostering a sense of community and enhancing our students’ learning experiences. At Lavender Oaks we are committed to providing a non-denominational Christian education that integrates faith, values, community and academic excellence. Our aim is to instill character, foster academic growth, and prepare students for a purposeful and responsible life.

We're growing... and we're looking for the right people to grow with us.

Lavender Oaks Learning Academy isn't a traditional school, and we're not looking for traditional educators. We're looking for mentors.

👉People who love watching children discover, create, build, question, and grow.
👉People who believe learning happens just as much outside as it does inside.
👉People who don't mind getting a little messy, thinking outside the box, and encouraging curiosity every step of the way.

If you have a heart for children, enjoy working as part of a team, and believe education should be hands-on, engaging, and meaningful, we'd love to hear from you.

We're currently hiring instructors and mentors for Preschool through 11th Grade.

Visit LavenderOaks.org to learn more, or send your resume to [email protected].

Come help us build something special.

What if school felt a little different?

Imagine a place where your child spends as much time with dirt under their fingernails as they do with a pencil in their hand. Where books are loved, curiosity is celebrated, and learning doesn't stop at the classroom door.

Where children build, create, sew, garden, care for animals, conduct experiments, and ask a hundred questions because someone actually has time to answer them.

That's what we're building at Lavender Oaks Learning Academy.

We're a hands-on, nature-based homeschool hybrid in North Texas, designed for families who want the freedom of homeschooling with the consistency and community of a small school.

Our students attend three days each week. Parents remain an essential part of their child's education, while we come alongside them to provide engaging academics, meaningful projects, and a community where children are truly known.

If you've been looking for an educational environment that values curiosity over busywork, relationships over class size, and learning that extends beyond four walls, we'd love to meet you.

Open House visits are available by appointment.
Visit lavenderoaks.org to learn more or send us a message to schedule a tour.

Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything so that we could live in freedom.

At LOLA, we believe that teaching our children gratitude and love is just as important as any lesson in a textbook. Today is a beautiful reminder of why character education matters.

"Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." — John 15:13

What does hands-on learning look like at LOLA?

Experiments, STEM projects, art, theater, real-life problem solving, group projects, outdoor activities, and creative work — and YES, this matters just as much for your high schooler as it does for the little ones!

Teens who learn by doing are better prepared for college, careers, and life. Critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity aren't just fun — they're the skills employers and universities are looking for. At LOLA, we make sure your high schooler graduates ready for the real world.
