Today in orchestra, our Section Captains took the lead and ran sectionals during class! They worked with their sections on music, helped their peers, and stepped into leadership roles with confidence and responsibility.

I LOVE seeing our students take ownership of their ensembles and realizing just how much they are capable of. Congrats to the whole group for their engagement today!

Wrapping up an unforgettable trip to NYC! 🗽

On our final day, we took a walking tour through Lower Manhattan, exploring Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, and Federal Hall, before spending time reflecting at the 9/11 Memorial.

After lunch, we wrapped up the trip with an immersive experience at Mercer Labs before heading home.

So proud of this group and all the memories we made together! 🎶

Day 2 in NYC with the McKeesport Music Department did not disappoint!

We kicked things off with an incredible tour of Radio City Music Hall, then took in some of the best views of the city from the Top of the Rock. From there, it was the full NYC experience, from walking through the energy of Times Square to exploring RiseNY.

We enjoyed a great dinner at Gayle’s before heading to the theater to see the amazing Broadway performance of &Juliet.

So proud of this group for representing our program so well and making memories we won’t forget!

The Music Department had an amazing first day in New York City! 🗽

We kicked things off with a city cruise along the Hudson River, where students got to relax, enjoy some food, take in the skyline views, and dance together on board. It was the perfect way to start our trip and build some great memories as a group.

We’re excited for another full day ahead. Today is all about exploring Times Square, visiting Rockefeller Center, and ending the night with a Broadway performance of &Juliet! 🎭
