The City of Jackson is especially proud to celebrate our very own Nehemiah Pritchett, a former Jackson Aggies football standout, on becoming a Super Bowl Champion. Nehemiah’s hard work and dedication continue to inspire young athletes in our community.

Black History Month Spotlight | Edward Thomas Belsaw
Edward T. Belsaw was a Black dentist and influential civic leader in Mobile, Alabama. Practicing during segregation, he provided essential dental care to Black residents who were often denied access to professional healthcare.

Belsaw also served as a trusted leader during periods of racial tension, attending meetings to help address racial conflict at the Alabama Dry Dock and Shipbuilding Company.

He was a founding member of the Mobile Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., reflecting his commitment to leadership and service. In 1931, through Belsaw’s efforts, the City of Mobile built a public library at 560 Davis Avenue to serve Black residents who were barred by law from using the main library.

He married Beatrice E. Tobin on August 10, 1930, in Mobile County, and the couple resided in Mobile as of 1940.

In recognition of his lasting impact, a school in Mount Vernon, Alabama, was named E. T. Belsaw.

Thanks to the advocacy of Black Alabamians and organizations like All On The Line, Black voters in Alabama will continue voting in fair congressional districts that allow them to elect candidates of their choice. This is a win for Alabama, and proof that progress is possible when you make your voices heard.

Elon Musk's father, Errol Musk, had two children with his stepdaughter, Jana Bezuidenhout, who was 4 years old when her mother, Heidi, married Errol. No need to fret, this is normal🤷🏾‍♂️

Elon Musk and DOGE want to sell the Freedom Rides Museum in Montgomery, Alabama. Seriously?

It’s a slap in the face. This Administration continues to make decisions that erase Black history and this can’t go unchecked.

Rep. Terri Sewell and I demand they remove the museum from the list immediately.

Maybe you wanted the rush, maybe you thought the meteorologist exaggerated, or maybe you just wanted to file a claim. One thing I will say, you didn't want no parts of God's Nature. Maybe you should be blessed he spared you.
