Celebrating perseverance, hard work and new beginnings!

Garrett College recently honored 41 Adult Basic Education (ABE) graduates who earned their high school diplomas between 2024 and 2026 — including a record 18 graduates from the Class of 2026.

Each graduate took a different path to this milestone, overcoming challenges and opening doors to new opportunities in college, workforce training, careers and beyond.

As Dean of Continuing Education & Workforce Development Julie Yoder shared, “Earning your GED represents more than passing a test. It represents your commitment to yourself, your future, and the goals you refused to let go of.”

Ready to take your stained-glass skills to the next level? 🖼️

If you've completed a beginner stained glass class (or have prior experience), this workshop is your chance to tackle more challenging designs while refining your cutting, foiling, grinding, and soldering techniques.

Choose from eight beautiful project options or, for those who want a bigger challenge, select your own pattern, confirm with the instructor, and sign up for this class that will teach you additional skills.

Each student will create a custom round stained glass panel to take home.

Thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Tucker Community Foundation, Garrett College has upgraded technology in the Adult Basic Education classroom at our Southern Outreach Center. 💻

The new computers, updated classroom technology, and enhanced instructional tools will help adult learners build digital skills, access educational resources, and prepare for employment and continued education.
