1. Fill out your information as usual.
2. In the “Firm/Business or Agency” box, type “Self”.
3. In the Title box type “Self”.
4. In “Persons, groups, firms represented in this appearance” box type “Self”.
5. This is the extra step! Under III. Position it says, “Description” there is a drop down menu to the right of it. The default says, “Original Bill”. Click it, and select “House Amendment 1”. (It might also say House Committee Amendment 1).
6. Select Opponent.
7. Select “Record of Appearance Only”.
8. Agree to the terms.
9. Submit witness slip.

Hello friends, it's been a minute since we have posted, but tonight we come to you with an urgent request. Many of you are aware that HB2827 is scheduled for hearing NEXT Wednesday at 8 a.m. This bill, at its core, is a threat to the wonderful homeschooling freedoms we have been blessed to enjoy here in the state of IL for many, many years. It removes our autonomy, places your local school district as an "overseer" of your PRIVATE school (and the other private schools in the state), and ultimately opens a door that threatens parental rights. Hello, friends. We have not been posting much here, but tonight, we come to you with an urgent request and we ask that you stand with ALL Illinois homeschooling families in this important hour and fill out a witness slip OPPOSING HB2827, a bill that would remove the wonderful freedoms we have been blessed to enjoy here in the state of Illinois for many, many years. This bill, at its core, is a threat to the parental rights and autonomy of homeschoolers (and it would also affect ALL Illinois private schools), placing them under the "watchful eye" of the local school districts.
