We are so blessed to have such an awesome support network for the CTE and SkillsUSA program.

After a long summer the "pit" gets overgrown with weeds. Thank you to the team over at McHenry Township, Illinois Road District for stopping by and getting the bulk of the area handled!!!

We still have some areas to clean up, and we are working to come up with a long term solution for the area.

In this second video from Thursday we were able to again visit the CM Labs Simulations booth at the SkillsUSA TECHSPO. In this video Gary James shows Johnsburg High School student Brayden Clark an example of the many simulations that are currently available on the CM Labs simulator.

We purchased our simulator through a third party vendor, and CM Labs is the company that manufactured our excavator simulator that we have had for 5 years. Our motion base is the heart of the simulator, and still has many more years of life ahead. Unfortunately with our current computer hardware we are unable to add additional simulations or controls.

We were excited to find out that they have upgrade options for our current simulator that would upgrade the existing computer with a new one, which it would allow us to add more machines to our simulator. This would allow our initial investment of our machine to last many more years with improved options at a fraction of the cost of a new one.

Simulations available with the upgrade include a CDL-A Semi trainer, wheel loader, combination backhoe, dozer haul truck and many more!! It also includes an enhanced instructor interface that allows for tracking student completions, as well as an overhead view that allows the instructor to give the student feedback on the simulation.

We are excited to explore this upgrade opportunity that would continue to set our students up for success for many years to come!
