This past month I got to recognize a few very special individuals in my life. In honor of National FFA Week, I wanted to give my ag teachers at McGregor FFA a small token of my appreciation to show my gratitude for the everlasting love and support they have shown me throughout my high school career. I also got to recognize some of the hardest working people in my life for National Counselor’s Week at McGregor ISD. I am eternally grateful for everyone that has supported me throughout my journey! I hope I can do my part and continue to serve those who have served me.

Last night, I had the honor of serving the McGregor ISD School Board with a steak dinner in honor of school board appreciation month. I had a great time speaking with the school board about my Ford Leadership Scholar experience that I am incredibly thankful for. I would like to give a huge shoutout to Barnard Beef Cattle Company for donating 12 bone-in ribeye steaks & Villa La Cookies for providing us with incredibly delicious cookies. I would also like to give a huge shout out to my incredible family for helping me make this event possible. This project has definitely been a family affair all the way around and I am so glad Texas FFA Association entrusted me with serving this organization. Many more things are to come and I can’t wait to share all of them with you!

Howdy y’all,

My name is Tracer Rice and this is my Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholar page. This past spring I was selected as a Texas FFA Ford Leadership Scholar. This program allows me to conduct a year-long community service project. I am so incredibly thankful for this opportunity to give back to my community and the skills and trainings I have obtained. After weeks of training and careful consideration with several mentors, I have decided to create a staff appreciation program at McGregor ISD. So far I have completed 4 days of appreciation for all MISD campuses, honoring staff members with breakfasts, snacks and drinks, desserts, and other goodies. My hope in this project to give back to the staff members who have given so much to us. I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait to keep giving back to the staff at MISD.
