Yesterday, approximately 80 McGraw vocal music students traveled to the Music in the Parks competition, which began with performances at Houghton University and concluded with an afternoon of fun at Six Flags Darien Lake. Students competed against schools from across New York State and represented McGraw with wonderful musicianship, professionalism, and pride.

We are thrilled to announce that all three of our ensembles earned “Excellent” ratings and placed in their respective categories:

McGraw Show Choir - 1st Place
McGraw Senior Chorus - 2nd Place
McGraw Junior Chorus - 2nd Place

Congratulations to all of our students for the months of hard work, dedication, and commitment that went into preparing their competition performances. Your effort, teamwork, and passion for music were on full display, and we could not be more proud of everything you accomplished. 🎶❤️🦅

Our students proudly participated in the annual McGraw Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony, honoring those who have served our country through music and remembrance.

The McGraw Music Department is proud to share that we’ve once again been honored by the NAMM Foundation with the Best Communities for Music Education Award, making this our fourth consecutive year receiving this national recognition.

This award recognizes the shared commitment of our educators, students, administrators, and community members to keeping music an essential part of a well-rounded education. It reflects the passion, creativity, and continued support that define music in McGraw.

Congratulations to our seven high school students who represented McGraw in the highly selective All-County Vocal Jazz Choir and Jazz Band this past Tuesday! These talented musicians collaborated with select students from across Cortland County, working with guest conductors before presenting a fantastic concert alongside the All-County Elementary Band. We are incredibly proud of all of you!

The McGraw Music Department is proud to recognize six students who have been selected to participate in the 2026 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Eastern Division High School A Ca****la Honors Choir in Providence, Rhode Island:

• Lailah Zoll - Grade 10 - Alto 1
• Leah Nauseef - Grade 12 - Alto 2
• Liam Baker - Grade 11 - Tenor 2
• Ricky Osborne - Grade 12 - Tenor 1
• Lucas Johnson - Grade 11 - Bass 1
• Emory Sears - Grade 12 - Bass 1

This is an outstanding achievement, as thousands of students from across the entire Eastern Division audition, and only a select group are chosen through a blind audition process. Acceptance into this ensemble reflects exceptional musicianship, dedication, and artistry at the highest level.

These students will represent McGraw CSD among the top high school singers in the Eastern Region, working with nationally recognized conductors and performing with an elite honors ensemble.

🎶 Congratulations to Our Senior High Area All-State Vocalists! 🎶

We’re excited to recognize 10 McGraw student vocalists who were accepted into this year’s Zone 3 Senior High Area All-State Festival at Ithaca College.

These students were selected based on their NYSSMA scores from last year along with teacher recommendation, reflecting their consistent effort and commitment to music. We’re proud of the work they’ve put in and the way they represent the McGraw Music Department.

We are so proud to have 50 McGraw students representing our choral program at this year’s All-County Chorus Festival! 🎶

Our Junior High and Senior High singers have spent the weekend working with guest conductors, strengthening their musicianship, and collaborating with talented students from across the county.

Their concert is today at 2:00pm at Cortland High School and is free and open to the public. We are incredibly proud of these students for taking on this extra opportunity and representing McGraw so well!

Yesterday, the McGraw Senior High Band and Chorus had the honor of performing the National Anthem at a Syracuse Crunch hockey game! We’re thankful for the invitation and enjoyed cheering on the team together afterward! 🥅🎶
