Spooky season is officially here, and we’re excited for another great month at Infinity McFarland!

There’s just something about this time of year—cooler weather, Halloween fun, and lots of energy on the mats. 👻 We’re looking forward to watching our students keep building their confidence, learning new skills, and having a blast with their teammates along the way.

🏆 NEW TO KARATE TOURNAMENTS? HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT!

If this is your child’s first tournament, you might be wondering… What exactly am I watching? Here’s a quick breakdown!

🥋 Forms
Your child performs their form in front of a panel of judges. Judges are looking at things like strong technique, power, speed, stances, confidence, and overall presentation.

🥊 Sparring
Your child goes head-to-head with another competitor while judges score points. It’s fast-paced, exciting, and a great chance for students to put their training into action!

👀 What should parents watch for?
Don’t just watch the score! Look for the little victories:
• Are they showing confidence?
• Are they giving their best effort?
• Do they bounce back after making a mistake?
• Are they listening to their coaches?
• Are they showing great sportsmanship?

🏅 Winning is awesome, but tournaments are about so much more than a trophy.

Every time a student steps onto the tournament floor, they’re building confidence, learning how to perform under pressure, and becoming a stronger martial artist.

Our next tournament is October 25th in Janesville, WI — and this one even has a costume division! 🎃
