Looks like the Northland is ready to enjoy
This October in Wisconsin, you can ride a “Scenic Fall Foliage Dinner Train” aboard the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad for a 2.5-hour evening through the Northwoods. Boarding begins at 5 p.m. in Trego, with the train pulling out around 5:30, just in time to watch October color fill the countryside. The train moves at a relaxed pace past farm fields, deep woods, and the scenic Namekagon River, where fall can bring bright yellow, orange, red, and green leaves right outside the windows. During the ride, guests are served an appetizer, soup, dinner roll, their preselected entrée, and dessert. Entrée choices include Beef Tender Chateau, Chicken Kiev, or Four Cheese Ravioli, with coffee, iced tea, and lemonade included. Groups of up to six can reserve an enclosed private dining compartment, making this especially nice for couples celebrating an anniversary, birthday, or fall date night. Guests can also get up and move around the train during the trip. As daylight fades, LED lighting beneath the cars helps illuminate the passing countryside. Dinner trains run most Tuesday through Saturday evenings through October, and advance reservations are required, so booking ahead early is smart.
