Last day of school tomorrow! Early release begins at 11:15 as we kick off summer break! ☀️🎉

The countdown to summer is on! The last day of school for Henry County Schools is Friday, May 22, and students will be dismissed according to our early release schedule.
📚 Elementary Schools – 11:15 a.m.
🏫 Middle Schools – 1 p.m.
🎓 High Schools – 12:15 p.m.

We are so thankful and love Ms. Headley and Ms. Causey as our hard-working Speech Pathologists!

Today, we celebrate the dedicated speech pathologists who help our students find their voice, build confidence, and strengthen communication skills every day. Thank you for the care, support, and impact you make in the lives of our learners!

Congratulations to our 2026 Teacher of the Year, Señora Cruz! Not only has she brought an amazing world language program to Tussahaw, but she was also recognized as the 2026 Exemplary World Languages Teacher Award recipient. We are so proud of her dedication, passion, and impact on our students each and every day!

Good afternoon Grizzlies,

We are kicking off our May attendance challenge: “May We Be Here Every Day!” With only 15 school days this month, it is important that we continue to encourage strong attendance as we finish the year strong.

Please keep in mind that we still have several end-of-year assessments to complete, grades to finalize for report cards, and many fun activities planned for our students. Daily attendance is critical to ensuring students stay on track academically and don’t miss out on these experiences.

In addition, Henry County is hosting a county-wide attendance competition. All schools will be entered into four categories, with winners celebrated at the Summer Leadership Conference:
-Most Improved Attendance Rate by Grade Band (Elementary, Middle, High)
- Highest Overall Attendance Rate by Grade Band (Elementary, Middle, High)
- Most Improved Attendance – Cluster Award
- Highest Overall Attendance Rate – Cluster Award

To keep students motivated, we will also have daily incentives for classes with perfect attendance, including extra recess, a “Guess the Teacher” game for a prize, and fun rewards such as pie in the face or silly string for administration.

We ask that you continue to promote the importance of being present every day, communicate with families as needed, and celebrate students who are showing consistent attendance.

April is a very important month at school. Our 3rd–5th-grade students will be taking the GMAS, and our younger Grizzlies will be completing important assessments that help us prepare them for the next school year. Being at school every day helps students stay confident, prepared, and successful.

Thank you to all the parents and students who joined us for our GMAS Tailgate this Wednesday. We had an amazing time with food trucks, games, and learning ways to succeed!

Today, our students also enjoyed STEM Day, filled with exciting science experiments and fun spring activities.

TES had a wonderful month full of activities! 🎉 We celebrated our schoolwide attendance and proudly recognized our students for earning 1st and 2nd place, along with a Best in Show performance at the World Language event this weekend.

Our students also shined through Honor Chorus, Robotics, and Arts & Crafts at SMArT Fest, and our cheerleaders and basketball team represented us well at the Basketball Classic. We continue to represent our school with pride! 💜🐻
