💜 Grub with Grands at TES! 🐻

Tussahaw Elementary is excited to announce our annual “Grub with Grands” event in celebration of Grandparents’ Day!

Join us for a special morning of food, fun, and making memories with the special grandparents and loved ones in our students’ lives.

September 11 | 8:00–9:15 AM
Grades 3rd–5th

September 14 | 8:00–9:15 AM
Grades Pre-K–2nd

👥 Each student may invite up to 2 guests.

If you have students in multiple grade levels, please choose only ONE day to attend.

"Cyndy Cruz is passionate about advancing World Languages instruction in all HCS schools. Her classroom became a pilot for Spanish in elementary school. Her work with the district team advanced World Languages instruction to all HCS elementary schools. Mrs. Cruz's class serves as a model for other teachers, and as a place where all students are loved and given an opportunity to learn a skill that can positively change their lives."

September Attendance Challenge!

We’re kicking off our September Attendance Challenge, and we want every Grizzly to be part of it!

📅 September 1–30, 2026

The goal is simple: Attend school all 20 school days this month! Consistent attendance helps our students stay connected, keep learning, and make the most of every school day.

🏆 The Prize: Students who meet the attendance challenge will have the opportunity to participate in our Ice Cream Dream Party!

Spirit Night Reminder, Grizzlies! 🐻

This Friday, September 4th, is an Asynchronous Learning Day, which means there is no in-person school for students.

What better way to enjoy your Friday than by joining us for Tussahaw Elementary Spirit Night at Starlite McDonough Family Fun Center! 🎉

Thank you to all of our amazing parents, families, and students who came out to Tussahaw Elementary School’s Curriculum Night! It was wonderful to see our Grizzly community come together, connect with teachers, and learn more about the exciting school year ahead.

Families are invited to enjoy a light dinner, learn about grade-level curriculum and expectations, and visit with teachers to learn how you can support your child at home.

Congratulations are in order for our ESPY, Ms. Robbie Saunders! We appreciate you for everything you do as our IRR paraprofessional! We’re so proud to celebrate her! Here she is pictured with our TOTY, Señora Cruz. 🎉

The countdown to a new school year is on! Mark your calendars for Open House on Thursday, July 30. We can't wait to welcome our students and families back to our campuses as we kick off another year of building bright futures!
Academy for Advanced Studies: 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
High Schools: 1–3 p.m.
Middle Schools: 3–5 p.m.
Elementary Schools: 5–7 p.m.

The countdown to summer is on! The last day of school for Henry County Schools is Friday, May 22, and students will be dismissed according to our early release schedule.
