Safety on and off the bus is a team effort! 🚌

Superintendent Pace recently shared an important update highlighting key safety rules for our students while riding, as well as crucial reminders for drivers to stop for school buses.

Bus evacuation drills are coming soon (if not already) at your school! All schools should have bus evacuation drills by October 1st (as Superintendent Pace mentions in his recent "Catch the Pace" episode). Make sure you know what to do in the event of an emergency on the school bus!

Know the code! Digital versions of the Student and Parent Handbook, which includes the Code of Conduct, are available on the HCS website at bit.ly/HCS-CodeOfConduct. Additionally, hard copies are available in school front offices and at the HCS Welcome Center.

🚌 WHAT A GREAT FIRST WEEK! 🎉

Week 1 is officially in the books, and we couldn’t be more proud of our HCS Transportation team!

While every first week comes with a few hiccups, our team showed up, worked together, and delivered for our students — achieving an incredible 94% on-time rate for the first week of school! 👏

Behind that number are over 400 dedicated transportation professionals working every day to get our students to school safely, on time, and ready to learn.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedication, teamwork, and commitment this team brings to our students and families each day.

Our department was out this Saturday in the community Back-To-School events. Providing parents with important information, such as Here Comes The Bus App QRcode, school year calendar, Georgia Department of Ed. Bus safety tips. We also gave out sweet treats, bus safety coloring books and our bus stress reliever.
The children were excited and we are ready to welcome them for. the 2026-2027 school year.

On July 23-24, we welcomed the drivers and monitors back for the 2026-2027 school year at our Beginning of the Year meeting. We prepared them with the necessary information to keep everyone in compliance and ready for Day 1.

Our fleet inspections were performed and we acknowledge and celebrate this year’s 96.4% inspection pass rate (the highest in over 5 years and much higher than the state average)! Awesome job shop team!!
