Parents, please use evenings, weekends and vacations to get your child caught up with basic foundational skills. Many students are 2 or more years behind so do what you can at home to help them. Read and discuss stories. Ask Who, What, Where, When, and Why questions. Use flashcards, playing cards, and dice to practice math facts. Discuss elapsed time and money. Practice builds knowledge.
