JDLH senior, Riley, shared some great photos from recent events with her doe, Blackberry Moonshine and whether, Tito's Sunrise.

Check out the pictures of some Riley vs. goat shadow boxing and a little headbutting mixed in for good measure 😆

Beautiful animals Riley and you are a great showwoman. John de la Howe is proud of you and your commitment to your ag education.

2026 Harvest Classic Golf Tournament was this weekend. The Harvest Classic is a premier golf event supporting the SC Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe.

Savannah Lakes Village was the host site and what a beautiful course!

The JDLHFoundation.com was there to spread the word about the amazing students just down the road from Savannah Lakes Village. Many golfers had been to the campus before, but some had not yet made it out. We encourage SLV folks to organize a tour and check out 229 years of agriculture education history just down the road.

I happen to know that we have several campus employees who live in SLV and play a little golf. Shout out to Mrs. Wise and Mr. Hampton 🏌️‍♀️🏌️🏆🥇

More pictures of the event will be hosted here: https://www.delahowe.sc.gov/page/foundation this afternoon.

We welcomed Regan McGuill Booth of Booth Law Co to the campus recently. She spoke to our entire campus about ag policy and ag law, and it was a wonderful afternoon.

Regan McGuill Booth is an agricultural and food attorney, advising clients at the intersection of agriculture, risk management, and regulatory compliance.

Raised along the Texas Gulf Coast on a cow–calf and show pig operation, she developed early insight into the operational realities of agricultural business. Today, she combines that firsthand industry perspective with sophisticated litigation experience as well as national leadership in agricultural law.

Once again, our students demonstrated a high level of knowledge of the ag industry and had insightful questions about ag in SC and across the country. Mrs. McGuill Booth took all the questions in stride and demonstrated not just a deep understanding of the ag industry, but also how to frame it all in a way that was relevant to the students.

There was plenty of discussion of summer internships and networking before and after the presentations.

Thank you again Mrs. McGuill Booth.

RK&K's Chris Jordan, PE, DBIA, came to the campus the other day to meet with our students in Mrs. Davis's Real World course, and we redirected him (willingly) to our auditorium to talk to the whole school about engineering careers. But that is not all, he was kind enough to sit down with our Aggie Media students for lunch (Lindsay, Celeste and Oliver) and to record a Carolina's Field, Forest & Water podcast.

The students had tons of questions that ranged from career and educational inspirations to project environmental impact studies. Often forgotten: ag is a STEM pathway and we have a lot of engineering minded students on campus.

The highlight of the presentation might have been the video highlighting S-105 bridge replacement. Some of you may recall: Under an accelerated delivery schedule, RK&K completed the bridge design for the replacement of the S-105 (Old Vaucluse Road) bridge over Interstate 20 in Aiken County following a tanker collision that caused the original structure to collapse onto the interstate. https://www.rkk.com/our-work/portfolio/s-105-old-vaucluse-road-over-i-20-emergency-bridge-replacement-design-build/

Thank you RK&K and thank you Mrs. Davis who has created what amounts to a speaker series on campus. We have had a number of wonderful guests come and meet the students and they often leave the students, as did Mr. Jordan, with open invitations to apply for internships. Sharp followers of the page will remember that JDLH senior student Garland interned with Mr. Jordan over the summer.

Goats'apalooza Wednesday! 🏆🏅🐐

Cidney and Joslyn taking their show goats out for a walk after school. Like, what high school students don't have a soda and a goat walk on a 1,310-acre residential campus after school?

Benelli (like the shotgun) on the left and Bramble (like the prickly stuff) on the right. Not pictured was Bramble taking a bite out of Cidney's jeans 🧟

Followed by Ellie S at the Meat Goat Show with another strong showing:
2nd Place Late Senior Showmanship
Reserve Champion Overall Senior Showman
3rd Place SC4ME Class 4
1st Place Open Wether Class 2
5th Market Doe Class 2

Hey, I am Katie Green from Edgefield, SC. My favorite thing about being an enrollment recruiter is traveling around the state and getting to visit new places. I also enjoy being able to help students find a school that is devoted to what they are interested in.

On campus, I have been a part-time RA and have worked as an intern for summer camps.

Outside of work, I enjoy hunting and fishing. I am also working toward my master's degree in agriculture leadership, education, and communication.

In high school, I was heavily involved with the Strom Thurmond FFA chapter, where I served as a chapter officer and earned my American Degree.

Not just future leaders in agriculture, but role models for elected officials everywhere. Meet Student Body President Amelia as she talks about delivering on her campaign promises. Was it "no more homework" or "no more school uniforms" that got her elected?

You'll have to listen to find out :)
