To all of my students… remember, you will lose. You’re going to lose early and often. You’ll lose many times before you win. Lose big. Lose so big you learn a lesson from it every time. Lose often. Lose often so you can get your losses out of the way. Lose like a champion, with grace and humility. This is how you learn to win. Let your loss be the catapult to your success. No winner has ever gone without losing, so let the loss define you. But what that definition is… is entirely up to you. The same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. What are you made of?

Happy Birthday JT! Not a student or a coach, but as much one of us as any one on the mat, in the ring, or in the cage. A great supporter. A great friend. And above all, a great father. Involved, supportive, and loving. To not tackle him, wrestle him down, and tan that belly red, would be an insult to him, myself, and everyone here. Thanks for not making it easy. Happy birthday JT. We love you.
