The staff has been working all week to prepare the classrooms for a new school year. A lot of new students enrolled this summer, which means new friends! We have two new staff members, and one returning staff member. We also purchased a lot of new technology and art supplies for the kids. We are excited to start the 2026/2027 school year!

I'm sad to report that someone broke into our school suburban sometime in the late hours of Saturday August 2nd and the early morning hours of Sunday August 3rd. We have video evidence of a man inside the vehicle and then exiting the vehicle at 7:34 am on August 3rd. He apparently slept in the suburban after breaking into it. The person did significant damage to the door when they pried it open, and on the inside of the suburban, he broke parts of the steering column and the ignition barrel. He left the two pieces of rebar and a big metal pipe inside the vehicle as well.

A police report has been filed, but the damage will be difficult and costly to repair. We recently had work done on the suburban so it could be used, along with our van, to transport students. The sheriff's deputy said we need to have a mechanic estimate the damage to complete the report and determine whether it is a misdemeanor or a felony. We recognized the individual in the video based on several factors, but his face was obscured, so the officer would like more evidence if possible. He will try to locate the person we identified, but if he doesn't admit to the crime, he may not be charged. If anyone has information about this incident or knows of a mobile mechanic who could come give us an estimate on the damage, please contact the school or send information via messenger. Thank you.
