🐝 WHAT’S BUZZING AT THE HIVE?

There’s been a lot happening in Mrs. Garrett’s Forensics class and STEM Club! 💙💛

🔎 Fingerprinting: Students learned about different types of fingerprints and used black magnetic fingerprint powder to develop and lift latent prints from a drinking glass—practicing techniques used in real-world forensic investigations.

A special thank-you to Deputy Brown for supporting the lesson and helping make this hands-on experience possible!

👣 Forensics Casting: Students learned how investigators document and preserve impression evidence by measuring, photographing, and casting shoeprints and tire tracks. They even experimented with casting a shoeprint and seashells while practicing careful evidence collection.

⚙️ STEM: Using only their breath, a straw, and a Ziploc bag, STEM Club students explored air pressure and engineering as they worked to lift a heavy book and rescue Flat Stanley! The challenge put their problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, and engineering design skills to work.

Another great example of hands-on learning at the Hive! 🐝💙💛
