Congratulations to Jefferson County natives and Auburn University students Crystal Dockery, Alayna Moore and Tucker Ross who received scholarships from the Alabama Farmers Agriculture Foundation and the Jefferson County Farmers Federation (JCFF). They were recognized during the Alabama Farmers Federation scholarship reception Sept. 21 at Lazenby Farms in Auburn. Dockery is a junior studying poultry science, while Ross is a freshman studying agricultural business technology. Moore is a sophomore studying agricultural business and economics. The Jefferson County Farmers Federation is committed to supporting students pursuing careers in agriculture, forestry, wildlife, and related fields through our scholarship program. These scholarships provide financial assistance to students dedicated to the future of agriculture and rural industries.

Congratulations to Jefferson County native and Auburn University student Robert Burke who received the John Morris Memorial Scholarship during the Alabama Farmers Federation scholarship reception Sept. 21 at Lazenby Farms in Auburn. Burke is a freshman studying biosystems engineering. From left are Federation President Jimmy Parnell, Burke and Jefferson County Farmers Federation President Brad Fuller.

The John Morris Memorial Endowed Scholarship is a distinct, specialized fund designated specifically for Auburn University College of Agriculture students.

📌 Clean Up Day
🗓️ Saturday October 17th
⏰ 10 AM – 2 PM
Come help us get the farm ready for all this fun ahead! Because the farm cannot have any events until it’s looking its best!

📌 Springville Pediatric Fall Festival
🗓️ Saturday October 24th
⏰ 11 AM – 2 PM
This will be Mocha and Petunia’s FIRST event! Come out and support them!

📌 First Baptist Pinson Fall Festival
🗓️ Sunday October 25th
⏰ 1 PM – 4 PM
Come out and see

📌 Sunshine Saturday- Spooky Edition
🗓️ Saturday October 31st
⏰ 2 PM – 4 PM
Costume contest, trick or treating, animals in costumes, and spreading sunshine! And the best part? Because of the wonderful support at last Saturday’s farmers market- the $5 entry fee has been sponsored! 🙌🏻

I truly cannot thank y’all enough for supporting this little farm and, in turn, helping the farm continue to create opportunities for the community. Every purchase, every visit, every conversation and every bit of encouragement helps us keep these programs going. 🌻

I have SO much planned, and I can’t wait to spend these next few months spreading sunshine, teaching about agriculture, loving on animals and bringing the community together- of course by spreading sunshine with some really cute animals!

Congratulations to Kim Carnes, kindergarten teacher at Greystone Elementary for receiving a $500 mini-grant. She plans to purchase a classroom incubator so that this year’s class and others can experience the joy of watching little chicks hatch. 🐣🐥

Great group-great community!

Young Farmers of Jefferson County!

We are having another meeting on August 30th from 2-430pm!

This will be a joint meeting with the young farmers group of St. Clair County! We are also going to have a few speakers (more details to come on that!) This will be a great way to network with our neighboring county’s group as well as for new members to come out and meet the group!
