McCall Mountain Canyon Flying Seminars LLC is located at the McCall Municipal Airport (KMYL) in McCall, Idaho. McCall is the ideal launching point for flight training and experience the Idaho Backcountry. th America and approximately 60 off-pavement airstrips! Any aviator and backcountry enthusiast knows this means confined area, high-density altitude operations and endless ridges and vast river networks, providing outstanding, beautiful and challenging backcountry flying along side a variety of recreational opportunities. McCall Mountain/Canyon Flying Seminars LLC, established in 1997, is an internationally recognized company that conducts flight and ground training for primary and advanced pilots. We provide the skills and knowledge needed to operate safely in the unique environment of the mountain and canyon terrain, including off pavement landings. Our CFI's collectively have over 140 years and 75,000 + hours of commercial flying experience, including an estimated 20,000 hours flying as charter pilots, United States Forest Service pilots and flight instructors in the Idaho backcountry. Students will not only get expert flight instruction, they will also learn to appreciate the role that aviation plays in opening the backcountry to backpackers and sportsmen, as a means of transportation and as an unequalled resource in emergencies such as SAR (search and rescue) and fire fighting activities. If you plan to fly in mountain and canyon areas, you should seek instruction from a qualified and experienced certified flight instructor who is familiar with the areas in which you wish to fly, and here we are!!

ACE Academy 2023
Scholarships for Girls
June 21-23, 2023
For boys and girls, grades 9-12
Application Due: May 19, 2023

The Idaho 99s Women Pilots is offering to pay the $70 tuition for girls to attend the 3-day ACE Academy hosted by the Idaho Division of Aeronautics. It will be held June 21-23, 2023, in Boise.

The ACE Academy (Aviation Career Exploration) summer program is for both boys and girls, grades 9-12. ACE Academy is a combination of hands-on labs, classes, field trips and speakers focusing on aviation careers. The students will visit the Boise air traffic control tower, a flight school, jet and helicopter maintenance facilities, the national guard base, and the Warhawk Air Museum in Nampa. On the last day, students fly in a small airplane.

Please alert any boys or girls who might be interested in attending ACE Academy.

For an ACE application and further details please visit Idaho Division of Aeronautics - ACE. The due date for applications is May 19, 2023.

While only girls are eligible for the Idaho 99s scholarship, ACE Academy does have scholarships for anyone on an as-needed basis.

Idaho 99s Women Pilots is the local chapter of The Ninety-Nines International. We are a diverse group of women pilots who enjoy sharing our passion for aviation. Members of our chapter in the Treasure Valley have recently participated in SheTech (STEM day for high school girls), career fairs in Kuna, Emmett and Twin Falls, and the ACE Academy (Aviation Career Exploration) for teens.
