Our meetings are held the first and third Mondays of each month from 7pm-8pm.

Location is Búho Bookstore in Downtown Brownsville at 1140 E Washington Street, near 12th St and Market Square.

Hybrid meeting in November 1st.

We had a fun meeting tonight that involved a pig and nursery rhymes. Our next in-person/hybrid meeting will be on November 1st.

We had our 2nd hybrid meeting and it was great. Next one coming up in October.

We had our first in-person meeting in over 2 years. It was great! We had 16 people attend our hybrid meeting and we will be having more. Next week we will only meet via Zoom. Contact us for Zoom details.

Congratulations to our very own Phyllis Allen DTM, PDG. She will be awarded with this Lifetime Achievement recognition. Only 9 Toastmasters in the entire District 55 earned this and one of them is in our club. Way to go, Phyllis Allen!

Rio Grande Valley Toastmasters - District 55

The RGV Area ToastMasters speech contests will be held this Saturday. Come join us at 12:45P at the Sgt Fernando de la Rosa Library in Alamo TX (416 N. Tower Rd). The contest will begin promptly at 1 o’clock and should end by 3 o’clock. We will have the International Speech Contest and the Tabletopics Speech Contest.  

We had a pretty darn good contest tonight. See y’all next Tuesday. The Area Contest will be on Saturday, March 7th in Alamo.

Today’s Table Topics contest was great with 4 contestants. Congrats to Dez, Aleda, Justin, & Carlos!

One of our newest members stepped up as the Toastmaster of the evening on Tuesday's meeting and did a wonderful job at the lectern! 👏🏽

An interview style Table Topics session challenged one of our members while mixing up our regular routine.

We also had one speaker deliver his Research speech from Pathways! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Good evening, Toastmasters! We welcomed our newest member, Clementine, to Alpha Toastmasters tonight! Clementine introduced herself to the group by presenting her Icebreaker speech. She spoke about her interests, goals, aspirations, and how she has worked to put herself in new situations to meet her personal goals.

Each new guest participated in a round of Table Topics, led by one of our newer members, Alexis. Our guests were able to see how a complete meeting is held and were exposed to the various roles within a meeting.

It was a fun night and we all got to know each other just a little more than last time. It is wonderful witnessing the improvement of each of our members with every club meeting.

There are no limits to what you can achieve. Our fellow Toastmaster, Luisa Montalvo, aimed high, dreamed big, and set out to have fun at this year's Toastmasters International Convention World Championship of Public Speaking in Aurora, Colorado. Luisa graced the stage with her inspiring speech, "First Impressions," where she won 2nd place and brought back her trophy to share with everyone tonight at Alpha Toastmasters. Luisa spoke about her experience at the Convention and the years-long journey of how she got there and who was responsible.

People from all different backgrounds and walks of life search for a welcoming place to build, hone, and sharpen their public speaking skills. The amount of support provided by a group of people makes the Toastmasters experience personal. Every bit of advice, observations, feedback, and evaluations given to a speaker becomes part of a shared journey of learning and growth. We make progress because of the support of our members who help us along the way to make ourselves better and help us achieve our goals. Tonight, Luisa expressed her gratitude towards anyone that has ever given her feedback and helped her along her journey towards realizing her goals.
