During Fall of 2003, my wife Martha and I thought of starting an independent Piano Studio to expand music education in our community to a broader audience offering group and individual instruction. Implementing, among the most popular piano methods, our unique piano lessons method Music & Colors (R). The results have been extraordinary, we have seen many beginner students of all ages learn how to read music and play the piano. We want to say Thank You to Parents & Students for their contribution to this amazing experience, and for believing in us. The Piano Studio of McAllen brings to all our piano students a high level of professional music instruction certified by The Music Teachers National Association MTNA.net. More than 30 years of teaching experience gives us the confidence to work with students of all levels, from the first time beginner student, the transfer student, or to prepare an advance student for competition. Yearly, we prepare students of all levels for our Winter Christmas Piano Recital, presenting Group Ensembles and Solo Performances. We strive every day, individually with each piano student to deliver the adequate music instruction, at the student's level, and at his or her own pace. Since the first day we opened our doors to the public, we wanted to bring to Parents and Students a comfortable atmosphere, professional music instruction, a complete collection of piano music repertoire, all in a High Tech Piano Studio with digital instruments, iPods and iPads to play along musical accompaniments, and Video Tutorials of our own piano lessons program. We understand the importance of music education as a key ingredient for the development of the children’s mind, how music education helps them academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually. As part of the children’s growth, we also want to contribute preparing students with the foundation of musical skills if they choose to play and instrument in Band or the Orchestra in Junior or High School years. These are some of the reasons why we have the commitment to continue teaching music and piano. Our goal is to expand this program outside our own studio, we want to let more children explore the possibilities of our program Music & Colors (R), teach them how they can learn to play the piano, individually, fun, and at their own pace. We believe that piano lessons should be part of the Elementary School curriculum like Math & Science. Piano Lessons Lab has to be a subject available to all students in schools, allowing them to receive the benefits that music education does to the children's brain. We will continue our efforts trying to contribute with our project hoping that someday piano lessons be part of the Elementary School Curriculum.
