At the City of McAllen Proclamation Day for Soccer both of our outstanding McAllen High School Coaches were recognized for their coaching abilities and dedication. Let it also be known that Coach Arney teaches AP World History and Coach Segovia teaches AP/Dual Calculus. Two of the most challenging classes at McHi. IT’S GRADUATION DAY! 🎓🐾 Before we watch the Class of 2026 conquer the stage, here is your quick, survival guide to making sure the ceremony goes smoothly. Take notes, Bulldogs! 👇
🚽 Rule #1: Use the restroom BEFORE it starts. Trust us on this one.
👜 Bags: Don’t bring them. There is nowhere for them to be.
📱Cell Phones: You can have it, but no doom scrolling during the ceremony. Be In The Moment!
⏰ Be on Time: Report time is 2:00 PM sharp, and doors open for your fans at 2:00 PM.
👟 Footwear Warning: Wear nice shoes, but maybe skip the skyscraper heels unless you want to be sad while standing for a long time.
🚶‍♂️ The Walk: Stick next to your exit buddy—it’s a commencement procession, not an Olympic sprint! No stopping on the way, but a quick wave to mom is totally allowed.
📜 The Handshake: When your name is called, hand your card to the counselor, grab your diploma with your LEFT hand, and shake with your RIGHT. Pause on the 'X' for two camera flashes!
🧢 The Cap Toss: Write your name inside your cap before you throw it! Otherwise, you're playing graduation roulette trying to find it.
🚗The Escape Plan: It’s going to be crowded! Make a specific plan with your family right now on exactly where you’re meeting up after the ceremony.

Project Celebration is the ultimate all-night lockdown party packed with food, games, and memories. It gives our grads a safe, supervised, drug- and alcohol-free environment to celebrate their huge milestone together. No wandering the streets, no risky driving—just pure fun until morning! 🎉

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our former College and Career Counselor, Nelda Gutierrez.

Mrs. Gutierrez dedicated her life to helping students discover their potential, pursue their dreams, and prepare for their futures. Her kindness, guidance, and unwavering support made a lasting impact on countless students, families, and colleagues. We know many of our traditions for seniors came from her willingness to put the work into new ideas.

The McHi family mourns this loss and extends our deepest condolences to her loved ones. We are grateful for the difference she made in so many lives and for the legacy of encouragement and compassion she leaves behind.

Please keep her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
