Today's event started early in the morning with a Literacy Parade representing different book and Disney characters. Students and their families were invited to dress in costumes representing their favorite fictional character. Students' costumes were showcased as students paraded throughout the hallways waving at their teachers, friends, and classmates. To all participating students' parents, thank you for making this event a fun and safe experience for students. Wishing all families, a safe and fun Halloween from Wilson Head Start staff and students.

Read for the Record at Carmen Anaya Head Start.
Wilson Elementary Head Start students and teachers pledged to join other students across the country and read, With Lots of Love. The goal and purpose of this event was to promote early literacy. Students engaged in a read aloud book, With Lots of Love, virtually read by author, Jenny Torres Sanchez. After listening to the author, students talked about their family experiences and celebrations including those with close relatives and friends. Students decorated their pinata and added colorful candies to their pinata.

It was a busy month at Monte Alto Head Start. We celebrated our September students of the Month - Antonella Zuniga (mom Carolina Posadas) from Ms Gomez Class and Deyanira Saldana (mom Rita Lopez) from Ms Guerrero's class. Our students participated with "Stomp Out Bullying" Pajama Day! They attended the Monte Alto Homecoming Pep Rally, wore pink for "Pink Unity Day" (Ms Gomez class) and attended a Fire Prevention demonstration by Monte Alto Fire Department.
