This is the official page belonging to the South Texas College Office of the President; STC President Ricardo J. Solis is the second president of STC and under his leadership, the college has expanded its program offerings, customized industry training and workforce development and global initiatives by providing dual credit and workforce training opportunities across the border into Mexico, all to make a deep impact in the region.

“We are going to continue working on forging new and creative partnerships to bring more learning opportunities and workforce development to our region,” said Solis. “We’ve already created immediate successes by connecting with our community leaders who respect our mission and value what the college brings to our region. We must continue to change, improve, adapt, be bold and take risks to stay viable and move STC and the community forward.”

With continued rain and flooding forecast for the region, STC has announced a delayed opening of 10 a.m. for all its campuses for Tuesday, June 16.

Again, there will be a 2-hour delayed opening for all STC students and employees.

We were recently invited to meet with Orlando Campos, CEO of the Harlingen EDC, to explore STC’s workforce development trainings and course offerings to provide opportunities in profesional skills for economic and workforce development in the RGV.

This afternoon, in an Oath of Office ceremony, we officially swore in STC Trustees Rina Castillo and Dr. Alejo Salinas Jr.

Alejo will be serving his sixth term, while this is Rina’s first term.

We are excited to welcome Rina onto the board and to still have Alejo serving our students.

Together, our board has the capacity to create and foster great change and innovative programming that will have a positive impact on the educational landscape in the RGV.
