We have been learning about families in Ms. Sam and Mrs. Sandy's EHS class! We read Three Little Kittens and painted our very own mittens! We chose two primary colors and mixed them to see what new color it made! We have been establishing rules and learning about safety! We participated in a fire drill and tornado drill this week and did amazing! We are so proud of some of our schools littlest Adventurers and look forward to seeing them grow!

August flew by in a blink of an eye! Ms. Shaylee and Mrs. Laurynn's class has been busy learning about class rules and expectations. We have had so much fun getting to know each other and exploring the new spaces and toys and we have enjoyed being big helpers when new friends joined! Right now we really like the construction center, the easel, the light table and playing outside! We are still learning so much about each other and we are looking forward to what September brings!!

Another week of learning in the books and boy oh boy did we pack a lot in despite some unexpected events! Ms. Fellows and Mrs. Mya's class had two new friends join this week! We introduced easel painting, name tracing and glue to our ever expanding art supplies! We learned a little bit of glue goes a long way, "just a dot not a lot!" We read a book called The Secret that taught us when we are feeling frustrated or angry we can just breathe and it helps us feel better and gives us time to solve the problem! We also had our first party for our August birthdays. We had a pretty successful week and can't believe its already September! We have so much more to learn and we can't wait for everything thats to come!

Ms. Fellows and Mrs. Mya's class had a Marvelous week! We read Marvlous Me and My Super Body where we talked about all our different senses and what our bodies can do! We made our own scratch and sniff paintings by using jello packets and water instead of paint! We talked about what an illustrator is and then made pictures that told a story. We also discussed about how an illustrator probably takes really good care of their tools which lead into how we take care of our markers by putting their lids back on so they won't get dried out and how we are easy with our paint brushes so they don't get ruined. Then we had a dance party outside with Ms. Shaylee's class! Altogether, it was a fun week!

Good afternoon Adventure families! We just wanted to give some encouragement to our Head Start Preschool kiddos returning tomorrow. The first Monday can be difficult. They went almost a full week then had two full home days. Even though we try and talk about them coming back after the weekend sometimes that's hard for kids to understand. Some kids may have a hard time at drop off tomorrow. I know this can be difficult for you, but we promise to try and update you through ClassDojo (Brightwheel if you are EHS) when we are able, but sometimes the best thing to do to help your Adventurers calm down is to give a hug and say a quick goodbye. Also, maybe some reassuance on the way to school that you will be back at pick up and you can't wait to hear about everything they learned that day! We hope to see everyone tomorrow!

EHS had their first day a couple weeks ago and we have been having a blast! We have been going over rules and starting our daily routines! We have also been exploring our different senses! We used our sense of feel when we took our shoes off and painted stepping in the paint with our feet! We used our sense of sound when we played with the instruments and listened to music! We took a tour of the Head Start Preschool playground using our sense of sight while in our wagon! And we celebrated a friends birthday using our sense of taste to eat delicious cupcakes! We are so excited to see all their individual personalities start peaking through and can't wait to see what this year brings!

Ms. Fellows and Mrs. Mya's class has had an AMAZING first week! We've definitely had our ups, downs and all arounds, but we made it to Friday! Drop offs are still hard for some of our friends, but we have had so much fun! We have spent the week learning names and figuring out the rules and expectations to kick off our year strong!
So far we have started using buttons to play in centers and learning how to be patient and wait for our turn even when its really hard to! We have also introduced play dough, crayons and water color painting and we are currently working on setting boundaries with our friends by saying things like "stop, I dont like that." One thing is for sure it's shaping up to be a wonderful year and we can't wait to see what we can learn from each other!
