Pittsburg County Free Fair is September 8-12, 2026. All animals have to be entered prior to this date. Poultry and rabbits entry date is August 15th, 2026 from 10:00am - 4:00pm at the Southeast Expo Center and Motor Speedway Expo Hall. Poultry will be tested at this time. Rabbits must be brought for tattoo verification. Livestock pre-entry forms are due by Friday, August 21, 2026. If you have any questions please call the Pittsburg County OSU Extension office at 918-423-4120.

A vital step in the prevention and treatment of New World screwworm happens under a microscope. 🪰

The OSU Plant Disease and Insect Diagnostic Laboratory (PDIDL) helps protect Oklahoma agriculture by identifying plant diseases, insect pests and emerging threats. The lab also supports Oklahoma’s preparedness efforts by screening suspect insect samples submitted through county Extension offices, providing an important first step in the early detection of pests such as New World screwworm.
