Our students last night had the opportunity to participate in a hands-on pig lab dissection, giving them a firsthand look at how the heart and lungs actually function. This is where everything really starts to click.

Using real tissue, students were able to connect classroom knowledge to real anatomy. From identifying structures to seeing how the lungs expand and contract, to visualizing how the valves, ventricles, and atria of the heart function and how blood flows throughout the heart.

We even utilized a ventilator to demonstrate how the lungs breathe, giving students a powerful visual of airway management and respiratory mechanics in action.

Pig anatomy closely mirrors human anatomy, making this a highly valuable and realistic training experience for our future providers. Opportunities like this are what help build confident, capable clinicians.

Last week we officially kicked off our Spring Semester EMT-Basic cohort! 🚑📚

We are excited to welcome this group of students as they begin their journey into emergency medical services. Over the next several months, they’ll be challenged, pushed, and supported as they develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to serve their communities.

We’re wishing each of them a successful semester and can’t wait to watch them grow—not just as students, but as future EMS providers. The future of EMS starts right here, and we’re proud to be part of their journey.

Last week, several of our staff members had the privilege of teaching STEMI and Stroke at the WEMSA Conference Student Day, helping educate nearly 300 students throughout the event. We are truly honored to have been invited back again this year and are already looking forward to next year!

We can’t thank Wisconsin EMS Association enough for their continued support, not only of our Training Center, but of EMS education and providers across the entire state.

🚨 New EMS Training Opportunity! 🚨

We’re launching a unique combined EMR & EMT course starting February 10th - designed to streamline training, improve collaboration, and build stronger, more confident responders from day one.

EMR students will complete their certification in the first 50–60 hours, while EMT students continue through the remainder of their course.
📅 Classes meet Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6–10 PM.

This model creates a more engaging learning environment, lets EMR students get exposure to EMT-level depth, and gives EMT students a solid foundation before moving into advanced material.
