Mrs Pape’s 4th graders recently read “Small Steps” by Peg Kehret who battled polio as a child. While Peg was in the hospital, she cherished the cards and letters she received. As a culmination to our Personal Narrative unit, we created cards for hospitalized children, many with terminal illnesses. It’s a program called “Letters of Love.” Check it out online!

Our elementary students with October birthdays enjoyed visiting the Birthday Cart last week! Thank you to the MEPTC for this special treat for our students!

Attention parents! Reminder that drop off for the pumpkin decorating contest at the school is THURSDAY MORNING, so people can vote at parent teacher conferences and the Halloween dance. The winners will be selected based on who has the most votes ($1.00=1 vote) and will be announced at the end of the dance (see event flyer). Pumpkins can also be dropped off from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. before conferences. Members of the MEPTC will be available to collect pumpkins at this time. The school does not want pumpkins on buses to school, so if you are unable to bring your child to school and they want to participate, we can arrange pickup for your child's pumpkin TOMORROW evening (Wednesday Oct 14th) if you message the MEPTC.
The pumpkins and voting for the pumpkins will be set up outside of the school, so the public is able to come and vote for your child's pumpkin if you spread the word to friends and family!!!
Reminder that we will also have raffle tickets available for a great selection of "Boo Baskets". Raffle tickets will be sold at parent teacher conferences and at the Halloween Party. We hope to see you there!
