The Child Development Programs provides the foundation for meeting two general goals: 1) to provide comprehensive services for children and families ages 6 weeks to 12 years; and 2) to provide a quality learning environment for Mayville State University students. d their families across a five-county (Traill, Steele, Griggs, Nelson and Grand Forks counties) area in Eastern North Dakota. Head Start and Early Head Start programs are federally funded, income-based and provides a comprehensive child development program for children from prenatal (before birth) to age 5. Each program provides either center-based or home-based services to children and families
Head Start provides comprehensive child development program for children ages 3 to 5 and their families. Within our programs, we offer Center-Based and Home-Based options which supports all areas of a child’s development, children learn as they play, child health & well-being checks, family involvement, support & literacy activities. Early Head Start provides early continuous, intensive and comprehensive child development and family support services on a year-round basis to families with children ages 0-3 and pregnant women. The program supports all areas of a child’s development, comprehensive developmental screenings, family involvement, support & literacy activities. MSU CDP offers an integrated classroom approach. Our staff recognizes parents as their child’s first teacher. Staff understands and implement early childhood standards. They provide individualized opportunities to match your child’s many interest and abilities
The CHEERS program provides an environment which allows children to make appropriate choices during free time. There are opportunities for indoor/outdoor play, snacks, organized enrichment activities, quiet time and supervised homework time.
