MCIS launched their initiative with a book fair, and it was awesome! Every student got to pick out a book they were excited to read and watching kids choose “the one” is always such a fun moment.

Once they’ve finished, we’ve got a Give One, Take One rack if they would like to swap it out for their next great read!

Oh and parents/guardians if your student came home and started reading we’d love to hear about it…. Or even better, send us a picture! Mason County Intermediate School

Our Ag department and Ag students have stepped up to help me with a random idea — this spring, we’re doing Plant Bingo for staff! To pull it off, we’re starting to propagate some plants, and we need your help.

So far we’re getting these ready to go:
🕷️ Spider plants
🍃 Coleus
🍠 Sweet potato vine
🌵 Aloe

Got a plant at home you wouldn’t mind us taking a cutting from? We’d love to add more variety to the board — shoot us a message and let us know what you’ve got, or we can swing by to snag a clipping!

We’re also looking for ideas — what other plants would you love to see on the bingo board?

Our first staff Royal Wing Wars was fantastic! Some great wings, laughs, and a great kickoff to game day.

Shout out to the Limestone Family YMCA for donating YMCA passes and Mini Maysville passes to support ! 🎉

Throughout the program, we’ll be posting mid-month reminders to help keep everyone on track — plus fun questions and challenges parents, guardians, and kids can win prizes for. The goal is simple: build the habit of reading 20 minutes a day, every day, rather than trying to catch up all at once.

We’re thrilled to welcome the Russell Theatre as our newest community sponsor for ! Thanks to this partnership, each grade will wrap up the 2026–27 school year complete with the full movie experience — buttery popcorn, cold drinks, the big screen, and all the excitement of seeing a favorite classic book brought to life on film.

Starting my 24th year in education, and there’s something special about going back to my alma mater, Morehead State Volgenau College of Education, to spend the morning with student teachers. Grateful for the opportunity — can’t wait to see how they’re doing later this semester!

Senior year is HERE for many of our families — and I am pumped about what we have been building for you this summer!

As a proud dad of a recent graduate, I know firsthand that senior year is a lot. There is so much happening all at once, and it can feel overwhelming for both students and families. That is exactly why our team has been hard at work putting together a brand new resource hub — built to help ease some of that stress and make sure no one has to figure it all out alone.
