“You can make it, if you try.” At 71, Atlantic Cape graduate Leon Kerrison has some advice worth listening to 🎓

After earning his associate degree, Leon is heading to Stockton University this fall to continue his education—and he recently stopped by Atlantic Cape to autograph his photo and share a few words with our incoming students.

After 17 years in the U.S. Army, including serving in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm, Constance Cotton knows firsthand how deeply military experiences can shape a life.

When she joined Atlantic Cape’s free Clemente Course in the Humanities, she found something she didn’t expect: a space to explore the themes of war and reconciliation, connect with fellow veterans, and better understand her own experiences.

“The course exceeded my expectations,” Constance shared. “It gives the veteran community an opportunity to collectively learn about military history in a supportive way.”

Now, Atlantic Cape is offering the free 12-week online Clemente Course again this fall for U.S. military veterans, regardless of discharge status.

📅 September 24–December 17
🕕 Thursdays, 6–7:30 p.m.
💻 Online via Zoom
🎓 Potential to earn 3 college credits
📚 Books and course materials provided

No high school diploma or GED is required to apply.

If you or a veteran you know would benefit from this opportunity, learn more and apply at atlanticcape.edu/clemente

President Abreu has been getting out and about across Atlantic Cape, meeting with students, alumni, employees, local leaders, business owners, and community members at our Cape May County, Atlantic City, and Mays Landing campuses.

From talking about the College’s role in our communities to hearing directly from the people we serve, these conversations are all about listening, connecting, and building what’s next, TOGETHER.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared an idea, asked a question, or came out to say hello.
