Integer War! Vibrant Learning!!!

7th Grade students in Mrs. Hopwood’s math class put their integer skills to the test with a little friendly competition! Students practiced multiplying integers using a deck of cards! Students challenged their partner and worked hard to collect the most cards. With positive and negative numbers in play, students were thinking, calculating, and checking their answers—all while having a loud, competitive, and fun day of learning!

Learning in Motion
Students in Mrs. Phillips’s 7th Grade English classroom at Mayfield Middle School put their understanding of Castle Diary to the test through a student-directed review game. After finishing the text, students created five questions about major plot events and challenged classmates to answer them. Students earned mini paper clips by “stumping” a classmate with a question they couldn’t answer. The activity combined movement, collaboration, and student-generated questions, allowing students to review comprehension in a low-stakes, engaging way while taking ownership of their learning.
