The sun rises and with it provides the gentle welcome of its sunlight and warmth–notifying all of the promise of the day– an assurance that life is brimming with possibilities. Greeting Aubrey C. each morning as she takes her seat as a Maverick in morning meeting holds that same placid and hopeful greeting as the sun: a pledge of good things to come. As Aubrey moves through the day, she energizes a class with her strong preparation and participation; she provides the gravity to keep things moving. Her dependability reflects her commitment to her potential; she does what she says she will do: she shows up and seizes every opportunity for academic growth. Like the sun, Aubrey’s energy radiates, inspiring her teammates to pursue their strongest potential too. With a relentless vitality, Aubrey’s gracious and supersonic contributions are evident each day from her dedication to grow as a reader and writer to her zeal for science and math. There are no exceptions: Aubrey’s enthusiasm for life and learning pervades every space. Each day, Aubrey brings the vibrant rays of inspiration, sunbeams of aspiration, courage, empowerment, and support: the core values of the Maverick team; the core values of excellence. Team Legacy is proud to name Sam M., our Student of the Month for October! In the short time his teachers have known him, we have been most impressed by Sam's genuine willingness to connect. He goes out of his way to make everyone in the room feel welcome and comfortable, and that kindness helps set the tone for our whole team. Students like Sam remind us that a strong classroom community starts with people who are willing to reach out and take a risk. Sam enjoys a variety of sports and represents Mayfield on the football field and in the swimming pool during the winter. Like many 8th graders, he also loves spending his free time playing video games and being with family and friends. In the classroom, Sam stays engaged, works hard, and takes advantage of every opportunity to grow his knowledge. He continues to be a wonderful example of the 4 R's. Congratulations, Sam! You have already begun building your Legacy, and we look forward to a great year ahead!

Team Hele is proud to celebrate Art G. as our Student of the Month! Whether on the soccer field, playing a game of chess, or participating in classroom discussions, Art employs intellectual thoughtfulness and a willingness to take on any challenge. As a curious student, Art thinks deeply (and endlessly), asks meaningful questions, and enjoys exploring new ideas. He is a loyal friend and always willing to help out or speak up to advocate or support those around him. His brilliant wit and humor is icing on the cake! The Warrior team would like to honor our student Malcolm K. as our October Student of the Month! Malcolm made a wonderful impression when first meeting him and has continued this throughout this school year by demonstrating kindness, wittiness, and responsibility. He shows up every day with a smile, has great manners, and demonstrates the 4Rs to his peers and teachers. Malcolm makes us all laugh often and brings this humor into classroom lessons, lightning the mood when we all need it. Not only does he complete his work every day, he also seeks teacher support for help in his academics to achieve even more success. Malcolm is a positive risk taker in the best way possible for a middle school student, putting himself out there in academic and social settings. Some hobbies of Malcom’s are playing Madden, drawing, and playing outside with his friends. He also plays sled hockey and baseball. Malcolm described himself as funny, social, and kind. He would like to thank his family for being awesome and caring. Malcolm, we are all so proud of you and we adore having you as a Warrior team member. The Innovator Team teachers would like to recognize Kylie S. as our October Student of the Month. Kylie is an outstanding student who consistently demonstrates kindness, generosity, and a strong sense of responsibility. In the classroom, Kylie is always focused, participates often, and works well with others. She is actively involved in volleyball, where she has developed valuable teamwork, leadership, and perseverance skills. Outside of school, Kylie enjoys baking, cooking, spending time in nature, and organizing, all of which reflect her creativity, patience, and attention to detail. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks, watching shows, and spending time with her pets, including a cat and a turtle. Kylie shared that her family is amazing and always supportive, which has allowed her to grow into a thoughtful, hardworking, and well-rounded person. Her positive attitude, strong character, and commitment to both her interests and school responsibilities make her a deserving choice for Student of the Month.

The Adventure Team is proud to nominate Gracie G. as our October Student of the Month! Gracie is an outstanding student and an even better person! She comes to class each day prepared to learn, gives her best effort, and consistently demonstrates a positive attitude. She pays attention, works hard, and genuinely wants to succeed. Gracie is always willing to work with anyone, lend a helping hand, and make those around her feel included. Her kindness, determination, and willingness to help others make her an absolute pleasure to teach!Gracie is also a wonderful example of our school's Four R's. She is Respectful toward her teachers and classmates, treating everyone with kindness and understanding. She comes to school Ready to learn with a positive attitude and a willingness to give her best effort. She is Responsible for both her academics and her behavior, consistently making good choices and taking pride in her work. Finally, Gracie is willing to take Risks by getting involved in school activities, challenging herself academically, stepping outside her comfort zone, and expanding her circle of friends. Outside of the classroom, Gracie enjoys spending time jumping on her trampoline and going shopping. She is also a member of the school's Crochet Club and loves The Baby-Sitters Club! One of the biggest themes of The Baby-Sitters Club is that friendship is about supporting one another, celebrating differences, and always being there when someone needs you. Gracie brings that same spirit into our classrooms every single day. She understands that being a great classmate isn't just about doing your best, but also about helping those around you be their best. Mature. Positive. Focused. Hard working. These are just a few of the wonderful attributes that describe Callum W., the Trailblazer Student of the Month for October. Callum truly embodies the 4 Rs of Mayfield Middle School: respect, responsibility, right attitude, and risk taking. He loves math and science and is always helpful to classmates and staff. One of Callum’s passions is sports. He eagerly participates in intramurals and plays on both travel and club soccer teams. He also enjoys hanging out with friends and going on his phone. It is obvious that Callum’s loving family is a positive influence on him. Callum appreciates how supportive they are and recognizes that they helped him become the person he is today. It is a joy to have Callum on the Trailblazer team, and his teachers look forward to seeing what he will accomplish in the future. Congrats, Callum!

Elvis E. has been selected as the DREAM Team Student of the Month because of his kindness, respectfulness, hard work, and positive attitude. He is a dedicated student who always strives to do his best and sets a wonderful example for his classmates. Elvis enjoys expressing his creativity through writing and singing, two interests that have helped shape his confidence and character. He is actively involved in Student Council and Bookworm Club at MMS, and he also enjoys playing tennis and cooking. Elvis has earned several honors, including being named Student of the Month twice, receiving the Kindness Kid award, earning the G.R.I.T. award, and being recognized for following the Four R's. Outside of school, Elvis loves reading adventure books, learning new things, and watching TV. He is especially grateful for his supportive family, who encourage him to work hard and always do his best. Elvis also demonstrates his caring nature at home by helping take care of his younger brothers. His willingness to help others, actively participate in all classroom activities, and consistently show kindness makes him a valued member of the DREAM Team. The All-Star Team is proud to recognize Isla C. as our October Student of the Month! Isla exemplifies the Four R’s of MMS every day. She is an incredibly hardworking student who consistently gives her best effort in all of her classes and always chooses to do the right thing without being asked. Isla is kind and respectful to both staff and fellow students, her positive attitude and bright smile make her a joy to be around. A true leader on the All-Star Team, Isla has earned the trust of teachers and peers through her responsibility, character, and willingness to help others. Recently, Isla was selected to serve on the MMS Student Council, where she will dedicate her time to making a positive impact on our school community. Outside of school, Isla is also an accomplished ballet dancer, demonstrating the same dedication and perseverance that she brings to the classroom.
