Our Monday, August 24 Mayer Lutheran chapel service was a special one, as we dedicated our new organ to the service of our Triune God. The organ is a replacement for the one that was damaged by a lightning strike in May of 2025. Following the blessing of the new organ by our campus pastor, Rev. Luke Onken, ML faculty member and organist Colin Schultz led the assembly in the singing of two hymns, which you can hear in this video excerpt posted on our YouTube channel.

Games and matches for the fall sports season will be underway soon! 🏐 🏈 ⚽ 🏃 This year, ML will be posting a list of our athletic events for the week at the beginning of each week on our social media channels, rather than doing individual game day posts.

Game scores, when available, can be found in ML's Bound calendar. To find our Bound calendar, go to our website home page, click on the About menu, then select Events Calendar. Once in the calendar, click on the game or match you're interested in, then click on "Match Page" which will open a new page with information about that game or match, if available. It's possible that not all games or matches will have final results shared.

Our middle school students enjoyed their Back to School Student Retreat today! They started off the day learning the CRUSADER way, learning about our CRUSADERistics and Aspirations. We know that this foundation will help them learn and grow during their time here at our middle school. 🖤❤️

From there they enjoyed Joyful Noise Chapel, a picnic, and a round of golf at Big Stone Mini Golf and Sculpture Garden. ⛳️

What a night! Thank you to every Mayer Lutheran family who came out for our Back to School Bash last Thursday! 🎉

We kicked things off together in prayer, shared a potluck dinner full of family favorites, and then families explored the Open House & Co-Curricular Fair to meet teachers and check out everything from athletics to fine arts to student clubs. New families got the chance to connect at our welcome meetings, we heard our theme for the year ahead, and the night wrapped up with some laughs during Parent & Staff Human Bingo and the Student Scavenger Hunt — plus a few lucky door prize winners!

It's moments like these that remind us what makes our school community so special. Thank you to our staff, volunteers, and families for kicking off the 2026-27 school year with us — we can't wait to see what's ahead!

Maria Lopez, who attended Mayer Lutheran High School in 2017-18 as an international student from Madrid, Spain, visited Mayer Lutheran on Tuesday this week with her boyfriend, Alex. She is a chemist and lives outside Madrid. Alex is an electrician living in Malaga, Spain.

We love having former students stop in for a visit! (Hint, hint.)
