I think this is a good arrangement: Evan doesn't have much time! Please explain to him that the term "beginner" is a misnomer. If he thinks back to when HE was beginner, he couldn't have played this - no way.
I think this'll be a free download as it's public domain, but you may have to set up an account.
He can 'dress up' the measures with whole notes - we can talk about it on Thursday or wait a minute - he said a couple weeks ago that he might not have a lesson this week and next. But with his improvising jazz mind, he can think of something to fill in those l-o-n-g gaps!

Learn to read music notes with this $4.99 app for iPhone, iPad or Mac. Many features. Simple to use. Price going up July 1st. You play the note that's shown and it tells you if you're correct or not. Really good tool!

Here's a piano worth considering. It's in Des Moines, free, all the pedals and keys work. It is just under 48" - that tall sound board is a plus to the sound and responsiveness of the keys. A bench is included. Play it, look inside for rusted strings, see what you think! There's potential here!

Take a look at this piano with a matching bench. It looks very nice. It's for sale in Marshalltown for $100. That's only about 35 miles NE of Des Moines on Hwy 65.

A mom of a piano student sent this to me. Her daughter had been given an assignment for church to complete the statement: "I am..." She wrote "I am a pianist." Delighted me and I'm pleased that her mother shared it with me, as well!
