Today, the 6th-12th Grade students went to several locations to learn about future college and career opportunities.

6th Grade toured Fareway and The Fieldhouse.

7th Grade toured Burke and Story County Medical.

8th graders got to tour the Story County Police Department. Students got to see courtrooms, parts of the jail, dispatch, as well as some of the vehicles Story County PD uses.

9th Grade toured the ISU Campus and learned about life on a college campus.

10th Grade toured the DMACC Hunziker Center in Ames to learn about the various career academies available for them to take in high school. The Culinary Arts Academy treated them to cookies!

The juniors and seniors attended the College Fair at Ballard High School. They had a Bingo card to fill and help spark conversations. The students enjoyed learning about schools outside of the big state universities! They even had opportunities to talk to military recruiters and some road less traveled opportunities!

It was a GREAT DAY for our Spartan students to begin exploring their future opportunities!

⚽️ Our Elementary Soccer Unit is underway! ⚽️

Students kicked off our soccer unit by learning the basic skills and getting lots of practice! They’re off to a great start, and we’re looking forward to building on these skills and putting them into action as we play games over the next few weeks.

And a student favorite is coming soon… 👻⚽️ Ghostbusters Soccer! 👻

We can’t wait to see their skills grow and the fun continue!

Some information for tonight’s cross country meet.

Parking available on country road 160th St.
Parking available on the main park road
Parking will not be available in any grass locations.
I would encourage individuals to arrive early as there will be a longer walk from available parking locations
There will be no spectator carts available due to the condition of the course. Spectators will need to walk.
There will be no admission tonight. With changes to parking, it would be impossible for us to track admission. There will be no charge. If spectators have pre-purchased tickets through Bound, those will be refunded.

Please understand this is not ideal and you will need to walk a little ways but the athletes will get to run which is the important thing.

🔥 Making Sparks Fly in Ag Welding! 🔥

After several weeks of safety training and learning the basics, Mr. Meiter’s Ag Welding students were excited to finally get into the shop and make some sparks fly!

The boys started by getting properly dressed in their protective gear and making sure their welding masks were fitted correctly and working properly. Then it was time to fire up the MIG welders and lay down some beads!

Even during HOCO Week, the learning doesn’t stop! Our students are gaining hands-on skills, building confidence, and putting their training into action.

🥕 Learning Kitchen Skills with Play Dough! 🥕

Our 8th grade Exploratory students in Mrs. Myers’ FCS class found a fun and creative way to practice their knife-cutting skills, using play dough before ever working with real food!

Students practiced and identified several basic culinary cuts, including:
🔪 Large, Medium & Small Dice
🔪 Batonnet (Stick)
🔪 Rondelle (Cylinder)
🔪 Mince

What a neat, hands-on way to build confidence, precision, and proper technique before moving into the kitchen! Learning can be both practical and fun! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

🎉 🏈 Homecoming Pep Rally Fun! 🏈 🎉

Our elementary students had a blast celebrating Homecoming at today’s pep rally! 💙 🤍 We were excited to cheer on our school alongside the high school band, cheerleaders, and senior athletes!

🎶 We enjoyed an awesome performance from the band, joined in on some spirited cheers, and got to celebrate our senior athletes. And, of course, we couldn’t let our high schoolers leave without giving each of them a high five! ✋

It was such a fun way to show our school spirit and celebrate together as one school community! 💙 🤍
