This will be my final official post as Purnell Swett Wrestling.
Congratulations to Iyanna Crawford on earning All-American honors with a 7th-place finish at the Junior National Championships in Fargo, North Dakota. What an incredible way to cap off an outstanding high school career.
As I close this chapter at Purnell Swett High School, I do so with nothing but gratitude. It has been an honor to coach every student-athlete who wore the Navy and Blue.
Every wrestler has impacted my life in some way and made me a better coach and person. From my very first regional placer to my final state champion, and now our first Junior National All-American, I am grateful for every young man and woman who had the courage to step outside their comfort zone and embrace one of the toughest sports there is.
Thank you to the parents, families, supporters, and everyone who believed in our program and trusted the process.
Together, we doubled the number of state placers, tripled the number of state finalists, celebrated the first individual state champion in school history, the first two-time state champion in school history, and now our first Junior National All-American.
The banners, medals, and trophies are special, but the relationships, memories, and lessons shared along the way will always mean the most. Thank you to every athlete who trusted me to be part of your journey. Watching you grow—not only as wrestlers, but as young men and women—has been the greatest reward.
I wish the new coaching staff, the current wrestlers, and every future Ram nothing but success. Continue to raise the standard and make Purnell Swett proud.
