Congratulations to our FCMS Pioneers on an incredible first game of the season last night!

Our 6th and 7th grade football team came out strong and brought home a 10–0 victory over RRMS!🖤💛
We are so proud of the hard work, determination, teamwork, and Pioneer spirit these young athletes and their coaches showed on the field tonight! 👏💪🏈

The journey has just begun, Pioneers… and if that first game is any indication, we’re in for one amazing season!

Charlie and two other Wythe County students travelled to UVA Wise to present their very own APP Prototypes to judges against six other SWVA counties at the annual SWVA Can Code Showcase event. Charlie represented not only her school, but the entire county. All of our students were polite, respectful, and representative of what we are all so proud of in this county. Congratulations to Charlie and the others for an amazing display of talent, artistic ability, and understanding of computer science and community!!

🪢Friday in GoTec, students participated in the Human Knot soft skills activity. They practiced teamwork, communication, problem-solving, patience, and leadership as they worked to untangle their groups. They did an amazing job encouraging one another and finding solutions!🪢

Our First Week in GoTec!

We spent our first week of school getting to know one another, building relationships, and learning what GoTec is all about! 🖤💛

Students also created and designed their own “One Word.” This is a word that represents how they want their school year to go. From confidence and growth to success, kindness, and determination, I loved seeing the thought and creativity they put into their choices! 💡🎨

It was a great way to kick off the year, and I’m excited to see where this year takes us!
