🐄🌾 A Wonderful Day at Lyndell Dairy!

What an amazing day for our students! This week, students from iLEAD and JAG had the opportunity to spend the morning at Lyndell Dairy in Lyndon Station with the Madland family.

From seeing the calves and learning about milking to exploring animal care, feed and nutrition, farm equipment, and everything that goes into running a dairy farm, our students were able to experience farm life firsthand. They asked great questions, learned so much, and had a lot of fun along the way!

One of our favorite parts of opportunities like this is having our students learn directly from professionals. The Madland family took the time to welcome our students, share their knowledge, answer questions, and give them a look into their everyday lives on the farm.

A huge thank you to the Madland family for opening up your farm to us and making our students feel so welcome. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your farm, your knowledge, and your passion for agriculture with our students. It was a day we won’t soon forget! 🐄💙🌾

Another Great Day at the Men’s Shed!

Our iLEAD students had another wonderful opportunity to spend time with the Juneau County Men’s Shed this week!

This partnership has become such a special part of iLEAD. Our students volunteer with the Men’s Shed each month, helping set up, serve food, and lend a hand wherever needed. Even over summer break, our students continued to volunteer and spend time with the Men’s Shed!

But one of the best parts of these visits is simply getting the chance to sit down, talk, laugh, listen to stories, and build relationships with the Men’s Shed members.

These visits give our students the opportunity to learn alongside members of our community, make meaningful connections across generations, and gain experiences outside of the classroom. We are incredibly thankful for the conversations, stories, knowledge, and time the Men’s Shed members continue to share with our students.

Experiences like these are such an important part of iLEAD and remind our students that learning can happen anywhere. Thank you to the Juneau County Men’s Shed for continuing to welcome our students each month! 💙

🎓 Exploring What Comes Next!

This week, students from iLEAD, Lemonweir Academy, and JAG had the opportunity to attend the Wisconsin Education Fair at UW-La Crosse!

Students were able to explore a variety of colleges and programs, talk directly with college representatives, ask questions, and learn more about the many options available after high school. It was a great chance for students to start thinking about their futures and discover paths that match their interests and goals.

We are so proud of our students for representing iLEAD, Lemonweir Academy, and JAG so well and taking advantage of this opportunity to learn more about what their next steps could look like! 💙

🌲🛶 iLEAD Takes on Upham Woods! 🛶🌲

Our iLEAD students had an awesome day at Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center! Students got outside of the classroom and spent the day learning, exploring, and working together.

Throughout the day, students took on team-building challenges, learned outdoor survival skills, and hit the water for canoeing! It was great to see students trying new things, encouraging one another, and having fun along the way.

A huge thank you to the Upham Woods staff for giving our students such a fun, hands-on learning experience!

Our first workshop of the year was a delicious one! 🍳🌮

A huge thank you to Renee Bailey for coming to iLEAD and spending time with our students in the kitchen!

Renee taught students about kitchen safety, proper cooking techniques, and how to confidently work in the kitchen. Students then got to put those skills to work by making their own breakfast sandwiches and tacos!

We love giving our students opportunities to learn real-world skills through hands-on experiences, especially when we can bring members of our community in to share their knowledge with us.

Thank you, Renee, for helping us kick off our first workshop of the school year! We had a great time learning, cooking, and, of course, eating! 💙

We’re back! 🎉

The 2026–2027 school year is officially underway at iLEAD, and we are so excited for another year of learning, creating, exploring, and growing together!

Our students have already hit the ground running—getting to know one another, settling into their routines, and jumping into their first projects of the year. We love seeing their ideas come to life and watching students take ownership of their learning through hands-on, project-based experiences.

We have so many exciting projects, workshops, field trips, community partnerships, and new experiences ahead of us this year, and we can’t wait to share them with you!
Here’s to another great year at iLEAD! 💙

🌟 What a Year at iLEAD! 🌟

As we wrap up another incredible school year, we're celebrating a year filled with innovation, growth, and meaningful connections.

Through our 2-Hour Learning model, students took ownership of their learning while building independence, confidence, and real-world skills. From robotics and Shark Tank presentations to career exploration, community service, passion projects, field trips, and hands-on learning experiences, our students learned by doing every step of the way.

We are so grateful to our families, community partners, volunteers, and guest presenters who helped make these experiences possible. Most importantly, we're proud of our students for their curiosity, creativity, perseverance, and willingness to try new things.

Thank you for an amazing year, iLEAD family. Have a wonderful summer—we can't wait to see what next year brings! ❤️💙

As iLEAD wrapped up the final advisories of the year, we’re reflecting on two incredible experiences that gave our students the chance to learn in very different ways—while growing in all the same important ones.

Both of these advisories were led by Mr. Heesch and provided students with unique opportunities to explore, create, and challenge themselves.

One advisory stepped into the Shark Tank, where students pitched their own ideas with creativity, confidence, and professionalism. They shared innovative thinking, answered tough questions, and showed what it looks like to turn an idea into something real.

Our other advisory brought learning to life through Robotics, where students designed, built, tested, and competed with robots they created from the ground up. Through teamwork, strategy, problem-solving, and perseverance, they learned by doing every step of the way.

While the projects looked very different, both advisories challenged students to think critically, take risks, collaborate, and trust themselves throughout the process.

We’re incredibly proud of everything our students created, presented, built, and accomplished this year. A huge thank you to Mr. Heesch for leading these experiences and to everyone who supported our students along the way. We can’t wait to see where their ideas, skills, and creativity take them next. 👏✨

🎓 Senior Spotlight: Riley

💭 Favorite iLEAD Memory:
“My favorite part about iLEAD is being able to go to school with my little brother and go to game time with him to beat him in basketball every day.”

🏀 From making memories with family to bringing fun and competition to game time, moments like these are what make iLEAD so special. iLEAD has also been a place where Riley could learn at a pace that worked best for her while staying interested and engaged along the way.

👏 We’re proud of you, Riley, and all the positivity, dedication, and joy you brought to the iLEAD community!

iLEAD Field Trip Highlight!

Last week our students had the amazing opportunity to visit Epic for a guided campus tour and a deeper look into the innovative work happening there every day.

After exploring campus, students enjoyed lunch at Epic before joining a special presentation led by Kyle Hauck-Mills. Kyle shared about his personal journey, his role at Epic, and the many career paths available in technology and innovation. Students also had the chance to ask questions, see a demo, and participate in an interactive AI activity together.

This was such a meaningful experience for our students and a great example of learning beyond the classroom—connecting student interests with real-world careers, technology, and future possibilities.

A huge thank you to Epic and to Kyle for welcoming us and creating such an engaging and memorable day for our students!
