We want to thank the Maumee American Legion for their very generous school supply drive. They donated nine boxes packed full of school supplies, along with backpacks, lunchboxes, tissues, cleaning wipes, and a $100 check to purchase additional needed items for Maumee's Panther Care Closet initiative.

Shannon Ries, President of the Maumee American Legion Auxiliary, organized this effort to support the students of Maumee City Schools.

Each year, thousands of schools and youth organizations nationwide participate in "Start With Hello" Week. This is a national annual event dedicated to making new social connections and creating a sense of belonging among youth.

The Start With Hello program was created by the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation to teach students in grades K-12 how to build connections, end loneliness, and help one another. We know that small but powerful actions can promote inclusion and kindness.
