Start with Hello spirit week!

Each year, thousands of schools and youth organizations nationwide participate in "Start With Hello" Week. This is a national annual event dedicated to making new social connections and creating a sense of belonging among youth.

The Start With Hello program was created by the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation to teach students in grades K-12 how to build connections, end loneliness, and help one another. We know that small but powerful actions can promote inclusion and kindness.

Join us and be part of the culture change to create safer and kinder schools and communities! Here are Maumee's theme days for August 24 - August 28, 2026.

Maumee Police Division Invites Community to Celebrate National Night Out on August 25

MAUMEE, Ohio – The Maumee Police Division is excited to invite residents to this year's National Night Out Themed Heroes and Hurdles, taking place Tuesday, August 25, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fairfield Park, 1315 Eastfield Drive, Maumee, OH 43537.
National Night Out is an annual community-building event that strengthens partnerships between law enforcement, first responders, local organizations, businesses, and the residents they serve. Families are encouraged to attend this free evening of fun, safety, and community engagement.
Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities, including:
• Inflatables sponsored by Gallon, Takacs & Boissoneault
• Interactive games and family activities
• A baseball activity hosted by Maumee Little League
• A soccer skills station led by the Maumee Soccer Club
• Take a tour of Vehicle Village (City service vehicles, Police cars/SWAT Truck, Firetruck and Ambulance, and more)
• Opportunities to meet Maumee Police officers, Maumee Fire/EMS responders, Toledo MetroParks Rangers and community partners

Guests can also purchase food and refreshments from local vendors, including:
• Koral Hamburg
• BD's Lemonade King
• Los Pollo Loco

In addition to the activities, attendees will have the opportunity to visit with a variety of community organizations and local businesses, including:
• ProMedica Emergency Room & Urgent Care
• Maumee Chamber of Commerce

National Night Out is designed to promote neighborhood connections, build positive relationships with first responders, and showcase the many organizations and businesses that help make the Maumee community strong.
We're excited to bring our community together for an evening of fun, learning, and connection! Whether you're meeting local officers, visiting community organizations, enjoying great food, or participating in activities with your family, there's something for everyone.
The event is free and open to the public, and residents of all ages are encouraged to attend.
