Little Village Preschool will remain closed today, Friday July 17th. The abundant smoke in the air is being detected by our fire system and is setting off our fire alarm continuously. This should give you comfort as we know the system is indeed functioning, and functioning well, so in the event of a real emergency, it will definitely work quickly and effectively.

There are five to six pull stations throughout the building, four of which are located by entrance/exit doors. I believe the main culprit being located right inside the front door is the one detecting the smoke and triggering the alarm but even if using a different door for pick up and drop off would still set off the alarm as there are additional pull stations right inside these doors.

So, in an effort to not further traumatize your preschoolers, we will remain closed today. Anyone needing confirmation of this closure for their employer should submit the request through email as i will monitor this throughout the day. I apologize sincerely for the inconvenience and will see you all Monday when air quality is expected to be normal . Luau day will be rescheduled for another day. Never a dull moment here in preschool!
