Mauldin 6 – Hillcrest 0 April 12
Mauldin's Varsity squad showed no signs of letting up in their playoff qualifier against Hillcrest. The Lady Mavs dispatched the Region 1 bottom team 6-0 (4-0) on Tuesday night, nearly further securing a spot in the standings that would entitle them to a playoff start. They also continued to build confidence in their sixth region game.
Hillcrest mostly retreated far to their own penalty area but were able to create some space in the midfield area every now and then.
The Lady Rams were kept busy, especially at the full-back positions, with attack after attack rolling towards their goal.

Senior Lily Aldrich initiated the win in the fourth minute with a shot from the right edge of the box. After that, Eva Pennington (11th), Brooks Liverette (15th and 25th), and Chelsea Marks (79th) also added their names to the scoresheet.
Assists were recorded for Kate Putnam (3), Elle Morris, Emilly Ruby, Aldrich (2).
Shutouts were secured in goal by Ella Glenn, Chloe Davis, E. Pennington and Reese Leonard.

HUGE REGION WIN!

Varsity Game Report:|
Thanks to a brilliant team effort, especially in the second half, the Lady Mavs kept the upper hand against the TL Hanna Yellow Jackets with a 3-1 victory and celebrated the 3rd region win of the season on Friday night.

Mauldin had slight advantages from the beginning and took an early lead in the 4th minute when Simone Holland sent a long ball into Lily Aldrich's run who found Eva Pennington in the 18 yard box to beat her defender to the ball and score her 2nd goal of the season.
Just nine minutes later, it was Pennington who played a through pass to Aldrich, who eluded her two opponents, rounded the goalkeeper and made it 2-0.
Less than a minute before the halftime break, TL Hanna's Cayelli who was sent up from her own half, scored to make it 1-2.
Just 20 seconds after the restart, Mauldin scored again: Pennington intercepted a long ball and Aldrich penetrated on the wing. Her pass found Brooks Liverett in the center who turned her defender and increased Mauldin's lead to 3-1.
The Lady Mavs defended with vigor and aggressiveness as a very compact team until the final whistle, leaving TL Hanna little room to get in front of the net again during the remainder of the game. 💯
Mauldin will host Hillcrest next on Tue 4/12 at 5:30pm and 7:00 pm.

Mauldin JV Girls 1 - JL Mann JV 0
Goal by Savannah Little, Assist from Addy Wright

Mauldin Varsity 0 vs JL Mann Varsity 2
Lady Mavs Varsity lose region game against JL Mann.
For the spectators, this was a top match with high intensity. “We had the opponent well under control for 60 minutes and should have taken the lead. Instead, JL Mann scored two goals from long range. Huge compliments nevertheless to my team, it's just nice how they play, how everyone goes along the way: courageous, refreshing, self-confident. Our performance was decent over long stretches. The bottom line is that the team is on a very good path." said Coach Hartmann
Next JV / Varsity doubleheader: Monday 4/4 at St. Joe's.

JV Soccer Girls met for teambuilding activities the day after a solid 6-0 win at Boiling Springs. Fun, fun, fun and amazing spirit enhanced further.

03/05/2022

Our Varsity team expanded their record to 3-2-1 in a solid performance at Boiling Springs tonight. Brooks Liverett started the scoring festival in the 5th minute but the Lady Bulldogs equalized ten minutes later with a penalty kick for a handball in the box.
Our Lady Mavs needed only 6 minutes to see Chelsea Marks execute a double punch: 2-1 and 3-1. Shortly before the half hour mark, Chelsea turned from goalgetter to goal provider:
Her breakthrough on the wing found Leana Yevchev in the box who made it 4-1. Simone Holland joined the goal scorers one minute later and converted an assist again from Marks to increase the lead to 5-1.

After half-time

a long high curved ball from a Boiling Springs midfielder surprised our goalkeeper and landed in the upper right corner. 5-2
The Lady Mavs took back total control after that and found the net three more times through Chloe Davis, Payton James and Eva Pennington.
Final score: 8-2

Our thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery will be with Boiling Springs freshman Sophie Crosby who broke her leg in an unfortunate collision in midfield in the 32nd minute and was transported to the hospital.”
