This World Food Day, Help Feed Lakers!

Did you know that, according to The Hope Center for Student Basic Needs, 41% of college students experienced food insecurity within the last year?

For some students, focusing on classes and earning a degree/certificate also means worrying about where their next meal will come from. At Lake Land College, we want to help ease that burden so students can focus on reaching their goals.

The Broadcasting Club is rolling up their sleeves to combat food insecurity, and you can join them in their mission!

Beginning October 19, the Club is hosting its 20th annual food drive to support Lake Land students and their families. The Club will be collecting donations of all non-perishable, individually-packaged food items, with all donations going to our on-campus Laker Food Pantry.

Donation boxes will be located in the Luther Student Center, the Northwest Building, the Library and the West building for people to drop off food donations.

Another LIT Conference is in the books! Lake Land Student leaders recently visited Black Hawk College to network with PTK, SGA, and SAB students from all over the state!

Student Life and many student organizations had a great time representing Lake Land College at yesterday’s annual High School Career Day event!

Students helped organizers run the event, provide directions, and present on a variety of topics throughout the day. We are so proud of the way they represented Lake Land!

In the afternoon, Student Life got together for some team building and, of course, a little fun, too!

It was a great day to be a Laker!

We were thrilled to welcome alumnus Tryone Dennis back to campus for a special presentation today! After playing basketball at Lake Land and graduating in 1999, Tyrone played professional basketball internationally, served for 16 years as a decorated Atlanta Police Detective and founded the award-winning Clippers & Cops community program.

Tyrone shared a powerful and motivating story of resilience and growth, inspiring students to win at life and make a difference in their communities!
