If you have a ar "pistol" ar, or ak, or an ak "pistol" with a folding stock or stabilizing brace you'll want to read this. In Illinois as of now it is illegal to own a short barreled rifle (sbr). I have zero guidance at this point to be able to help anyone until we get more information.

On January 13, 2023, the Attorney General signed ATF final rule 2021R-08F, “Factoring Criteria for Fi****ms with Attached ‘Stabilizing Braces,’” amending ATF’s regulations to clarify when a rifle is designed, made, and intended to be fired from the shoulder.

Hunters in Illinois harvested a preliminary total of 50,300 deer during the first weekend of the Illinois firearm deer season between Nov. 19-21.
Comparatively, hunters took 47,147 deer during the first firearm weekend in 2020.
